I've already spoken to Eddie about it.. But I'm going to race at LeMans next weekend with you guys.. Not sure what class yet tho..

Can't wait.. 👍

Btw guys, still working on the complete Sarthe boundary outline, but here's some of the first few for you guys to get an idea of how the overlays work.

Pretty much, the green tinted areas are track, the red are not. Two tires on the green at all times, if you have three tires on the red, (or obviously out non-colored areas) it's dirty.

The four blue tire markers represent a car traveling on a just clean path. Meaning that where the tires are is exactly on the edge of being clean.

The most important layout here is the first chicane on the Mulsanne straight, the Playstation chicane.

As you'll notice, the green goes beyond the white line, which we don't consider to be a hard track boundary line. So as long as you end up on the rumble strip on exit, it's clean.

You can knock over bollards and stay clean as well, as you'll notice in the third image down here. It's all about the strips and certain white lines, pay no mind to the green bollards.

And also to note; I'm only highlighting areas that are possible to cut to gain time.

An extremely, abundantly, incredibly, thorough and precise track boundary guide's going to be released in a few hours. Working on it now.

But in the mean time; the red stuff on the Mulsanne straight means nothing to us, you're free to use the entire width of the track there.

On and a reference video from another series I ran in. The way we set the boundaries here is exactly the same we're using them for CALM.

The only thing to really note is that I didn't ever go fully into the red asphalt, this is just my personal preference/line, you can go all the way into the red and it still be a clean lap.

I'm uploading video's to youtube so I have to wait until that's finished.

Had a great session earlier with Aderrrm, Litchi, jtv and a few more. Felt a bit rusty, but got the vette up to decent pace once we did a few dry races.

A solid base to work from. 👍

Well, some more magic for you folks here. The most comprehensive PURE Circuit De La Sarthe track boundary layout ever attempted.

It doesn't get much more clear than this. Some people sculpt, other people make cute little custom steampunk pocket watches (ever seen those? Some of them have working pressure gauges - so awesome), I make interactive clickable track boundary maps complete with animated gif demonstrations.

(NOTE: These examples are most definitely not the fastest way around the track, in most circumstances below I've gone out of my way or driven erratically in order to more clearly illustrate what is and what is not acceptable)

The bollards are an inferior species deserving of extermination - in other words; just pre-tend they're not there.

heh, well this is more important for qualifying anyway.

But yeah, those poor things are gone pretty quick. I was watching a few old races we had in different series at Sarthe and it's like part of the race challenge was to wipe them out xD

Well done Eddie!! 👍

I'd like too see a post after a non-successful quali lap that states that it was'nt clear what was clean/dirty..

I know a little off subject but im stoked right now. I just moved up to #1 in the usa on test 5-3 on gt academy.

I'm still surprised people are wasting their time on that.

What do you mean wasting my time?

OK, I don't know if Wardez is on duty, but I'm going to step in before it gets ugly. What is and isn't a waste of time is purely a matter of opinion. My wife thinks playing this game at all is a waste of time, but I tend to disagree. She's entitled to her opinion and I'm not very good at arguing with her... I never win so I don't try. :sly:

Let's stay on topic. There is an entire forum dedicated to GTA and if you guys want to discuss it please take it over there.

hehe, you could just put on your wizard hat and prune the OT. :sly:

But I was referring to the fact that none of it is scored until the final week; thus making rounds 1-7 just more pointless license tests... not trolling him; I don't think everyone read the rules and may be unaware that the effort they are putting into the early rounds is moot.
