DA6righthand disconnected around lap 50 :(

I was off my marks. My head wasn't in it today. I felt I was going to gain a position before the finish because of my strategy and was expecting others to pit. Then I got disconnected on lap 50. I was so p*ssed.... Came back to watch the finish though.

Congrats cicua on the win! Sorry to trajikone for the bump when I got disconnected. It actually was my fault because I broke too late. From my perspective I barely tapped you and everything was fine then the next second later I got disconnected.

Pag, I was gonna ask you if you knew the brakes was coming on mid straight. LoL

Looks like a close race, I took the liberty of updating the score sheet. Don't be alarmed at all the ties and low numbers, now that you've run > 3 races your 3 drops are kicking in.

I was so annoyed thinking that I was going to have to pit early and slam my break pedal. But after a few hard slams on the breaks during breaking areas it decided to stop sticking lol. Just as Jeff went off at the last corner ouch sorry dude if it was me distracting you....

Managed a good start jumping maybe 5 people on the first lap and then settled into a battle with DA6righthand. At one point it was actually an ARTA team civil war as we were running in a line of three, but I managed to get myself up top. By the time I pitted for the first time I was up to 5th and stalking Adventuruss, but all the while this was happening Paginas had pitted two laps earlier and managed to get past me when I got out of the pits.

The whole of the second stint I was just trying to keep up with Paginas but at this point of the race my lack of practice and overall pace was starting to show. Paginas' subaru was getting farther and farther away and more and more people started ringing my doorbell to get past.

After the third stop, Paginas came out in front again but this time I wasn't going to let him get away. We were locked in a classic Tsukuba battle, where you just pound round and round the track for what seems like ages, taking literally centimetres out of your opponent and trying to keep the pressure on as much as possible, and during this time I really started to learn the track a bit and managed to clock my best lap (a woeful 55.2). Then one small mistake saw me lose 2 metres which felt like a huge setback and I had to start piling on the pressure once again.

I knew for me to have any chance of beating Paginas I should pit one lap before him for my last pit stop, but I had no data as to how long I could run with one set of tyres so I was really biting my nails, twice already moving to the right to pit but then aborting at the last second because I was just too scared of running out of tyres with 2 laps to go. Then finally I saw Paginas pit and was really beating myself for not pitting one lap earlier. :yuck:

Then on the last stint I knew my only chance was to just attack Paginas with everything I had but I didn't have much. My offence was already looking bad but then I collided with Z-Crazy and damage to the left front ended that attack. In the dying embers of the race I then lost concentration for a bit, took the "offroad line" out of the last turn and hit one of those seemingly soft looking Tsukuba cubes and damaged the left rear as well.

Now I had an extremely sensitive car and Jashugan in my mirrors too which resulted in a fierce battle of me trying to desperately defend my position with just three wheels on my wagon. It didn't take long for Jash to get past me and I finished in a somewhat disappointing 8th place. Had I pitted one lap earlier against Paginas (and not collided with Z-Crazy) it would've been a completely different race, but thinking about such things is useless.

Still, having 15 guys battle it out in these tight quarters made for great fun. I think I was side by side with someone in every metre of the track and everyone was being sensible in their overtaking attempts.

I'm still struggling to find the good qualitites of the Garaiya. It turns into corners really well but even at Tsukuba I was struggling to exploit it since every time I managed to get out of T1 side by side with someone, they always had the power to keep the position. Too late to switch car now, so I guess I'll try to learn the secrets of this car for the next race.

PS. Sorry for hitting someone's front with my rear corner near the Dunlop sign early in the race.

PPS. I really hate to be moaning about anything since it's always so good to race with you guys but Z-Crazy you can't take the whole width of the track to rejoin after a spin especially if you have so much damage (which means you aren't really fighting for position). It's difficult to negotiate a moving chicane and you could've easily reversed a couple metres on the grass and then rejoined from the edge of the track instead of going all the way across the track.

@trajikone I am really sorry for the bump in turn 1. I can cope that it ruined my race, but, I am gutted that it ruined yours and I will accept any penalty that is handed to me.
On the timings I needed another 30 seconds to complete. So a timing of +3:30.

No worries, even with what happen I still had fun, so dont beat yourself up. And thank you guys for the appology. Sure I'd liked to have been up with everyone but hey, it's racing and things happen. Tsukuba is this way too. I changed my strategy to trying not to go a lap down. Lol. Cause the track is small there was still someone to race.*

After the first stint with damage, I came out right with the leader. I pitted a bit to early an had to go from 2 to 3 stops :(. I didn't what to effect Cicua's race but wanted to be in front of him with better tires. So I paced him but was losing time in the corners. After 4 to 5 laps of that Cicuas tires were toast, he was on first stint still. I got a good run on the last turn and he let me back by without losing time. I think this little bit help gap 1st from 2 nd cause Cicua was pushing quite hard on those bad tires making good time.

*Around lap 41 Adventuruss was battling Josh and Bain in front of me. Adven went inside josh and hit him alittle. So when that happened he hit the brakes to wait for Josh, I guess not realizing I was right behind him, so I got brake checked, damage for another stint. Please when you wait for someone make sure your ok to do so. Even go further up the track and wait.*
At lap 51 I think someone tapped Wardez allowing me to catch him while he waited to enter the track safely. Would have been temporary cause of pit differences. So I was a little happier.

Lap 53 was ahead of Da6 again from pit and when he got to me on 2nd to last turn he DC'd. It hit me and I went in the grass and had to wait to enter safely. Ahhh more lost time.

I will say though these were only 4 small incidents when you consider how intense we battled for 75 laps, 300 u turns and 150 esse sections. I felt like it was almost real racing with a few unintentional bumps. Good job to all. Lots of fun still. On to next week.*

During qualifying I discovered that edge. Really don't recall going off there before then. Then you seen me do it again. I'm guessing cold tires are catching out there.

That really aggravated me because I was gaining on you and Eddie. I had pitted on lap 49 or so and was on fresh rubber. Were you guys on worn tires? I forgot to save the replay :-( so no pictures this time

Sorry OK8, it was not my intention to spin out re-entering the track. The damage was really bad when I hit the wall and soon as I pulled out it half spun again. To top it off I looked back and didnt see anyone coming (but it did take a while to get going). One more note OK8, you did the same thing to me in pracatice, not saying it was OK... just saying it happens.

The race was fun up until that point. I think I was going to come up about 5-8 seconds short of Cicua but I think it would have been a good race and finish (2nd or 3rd) with the three stop strategy.

After a little bit of practice, I ran a 1:35.5 and josh ran a 1:34.0.
Any other times?

2:34? Lol. I ran 2:36 the other day. I'll practice soon but I don't exactly favor this track so motivation to practice is nil. Hopefully I can meet up with somebody so I can see the fast line.

2:33.6 after a handful of laps. My first WRS was on the south part so I am pretty comfortable with that. The big loop is just full throttle all the way in these cars. Final corner is really important, brake & balance & all to the left really early, then full throttle from way before apex and get lots of exit speed down the straight.

But quali is going to be interesting, second lap seems to be 0.5 slower no matter what, so there is no doing a banker lap first.

Still need to improve my setup because the rear is dangerously lively, especially in that left-right uphill (turn 6-7) and in the loop. And the tyres last only 4 laps for now

Tire wear is going to be the tough here. I'm finding if I balance the car for good tire wear the rear is way too "lively", as Cicua put it. However the difference in stints length is fairly substantial. Once balanced to even tire wear I'm expecting to see 6 laps with about 4 second fall off at the end. With a comfy car setup I'm stretching for 5 laps with the 5th lap almost 5-6 seconds slower. This looks to be shaping up for a strategy race.

BTW I'm seeing 2.35's...

Im seeing 2.35s about 5 secs from the finish line lol:grumpy:

Room up : 1472-6681-3759-3054-8109

I may join in a bit if the rooms still open.

For qualifying, the best bet will be taking the warm up lap easy so there's some tire left for the second flyer.

Anyone planning to be on around 8pm EST aka 3pm GMT or later?

Looks like my scheduling of TRM (Motegi) for July 7th works out just wonderfully, we'll have a week and three days to get used to the track since it's coming out tomorrow.

But don't neglect Cape Ring! D:

It's actually already out right now. I haven't downloaded it yet but it's up for purchase on the PS store 👍

Oh nice, thought I heard that somewhere else, thanks for the heads up 👍

Anyways, I just did a little bit of practice at Cape Ring. My first practice lap was a 2:34.1, and after a few more I got the BMW down to a 2:33.7. If I can nail the first lap with fresh tires I imagine I should be able to do a low 33.

Sorry for not posting or keeping up guys, I had a long string of things that didn't go my way. A post resigning from the series for technical difficulties was on my fingertips for 2-3 weeks, but since I dread those I delayed it. :(
Poor internet service, internet outages, and PC's crapping out behind me (for now anyway) it does seem I'm in the clear now to join you all on track again though. :)

Oh, and I fell in love...
