Idk, did some warm up at Monza and I basically didn't wipe out.
Probably going to be a lot closer and tighter races now. Less crashes, etc.

I have to drive more cars to judge the new physics properly. Tires were at 90% after 19 laps on "normal".(which is actually realistic, but tires won't ever be worn at this setting)

We need new tunes Dom! D:

I'm glad these changes came after Laguna though and right after our 3rd round on a Monday leaving us with plenty of practice time to get used to the altered online physics.

I ran only a few laps, but I was able to get a 46.5 with ease with the GT-R. Don't think I have the setup I want, especially the gears, given I pretty much copied them from the Z.

First impression of the changed physics? The rears are superglued to the track, which makes it a little too easy to drive.

I agree with this. I see only one stop on most tracks and that really takes the tactical game out. We are driving in an endurance race and don't even need to take care of our tyres which is a bit odd.

Sorry for double post.

I did a 44.9 sunday night, but now i cant go further than 45.7.

Last night Tony did some laps and did a 44.5 so its possible.

Suggesting we run a faster wear rate?

Have to admit, the idea of running "fast" as opposed to "normal" is intriguing me...

But besides that, just had some good time running different tracks, Laguna and Sarthe, in my GT-ahroo.
Physics aren't so different. Entry is more important but only due to the fact that understeer has more of a presence. But what's weird is that the extra stability seems to've really increased mid-corner performance. I was flying through Porsche so much more easily (same tune as before in 2.08, just with increased LSD values) and it was a lot of fun. But I did encounter random understeer moments, seemed to be only during times when the car was under a lot of load, and the suspension was compressed. So it's a nice change overall I'd say, will just take some getting used to. I wanna try the SC next since if that thing has more understeer things may get doggish. The NSX would've done well with this update for sure.

I was hitting about 1:21.5 after just a couple laps at Laguna and low 3:54s with limited runs at Sarthe. Just a bit slower, not much.

Me also. Wouldn't it be great knowing everyone has to do 2 or 3 stops.
Positions will be won and lost through strategy.

A 1-stopper sure is'nt always the obvious strategy.
Fuji: Some did 2 stops, some did 1.
Seca: 2 and 1 stops was pretty much equal. Both options had pro's and con's.
LaSarthe: Only 1 stop. But, when to stop was still up in the air.
Monza: When to stop will be the most important decition here.

I think strategy does come in to play quite a bit as it is.
And see no need to speed up the wear rate.
By speeding up the wear rate, we also put cars with more wear at a greater disadvantage.
So for parity reasons on top of the strategy reasons I think we should leave the wear rates to normal.
At least for this championship.

I can see how we could use this in future events though, but that would require more detailed testing.

Fuel now runs out much faster than tyres, that is much more realistic.

2.10 might even bring fast fuel-only pit stops. Multiple stints without changing tyres - rings a bell? :)

Btw I can not run 19 laps and still have 90% tyre left. I guess Dom is just much more smooth in the turns.

They need to give us the ability to do "splash and dash."

Any chance of joining? prefer epson or arta, but I also have stealth gtr(If thats int.) but of course, any car, just to participate. Psn. Kolden73

Sorry Koleen, this is an invitation only series. Seems you haven't read the OP since you're asking to join with cars that we don't use.

All they need to do is add a little drop-down list option that says, " No tire change."

Heading to bed, but before that, here's all of the replays for Round 3:
D1 | PAL | PS3 Replay
D1 | NTSC | PS3 Replay
D2 | PAL | PS3 Replay
D2 | NTSC | PS3 Replay

Every one, those with new team mates welcome, here's the new tentative team and driver picture:

In previous GT's you could pit without taking tires, I think every one of them too. :/

Also, 2-tire stops. Oh yes.

yeah, they need another option on the drop down for tire choice.
You can pick Front and Rear so they just need one that says "don't change" at the top of the list of available rubber in each box.
but 2-tire stops take just as long as 4-tire stops when you have more than one air gun. so kind of moot in the GT5 land.

Maybe. But when you have a car that wears rear tires far faster than the fronts, no reason to change the front tires. It's all about car handling and strategy, not just time. 👍

I ran 45.9 in Monza just now. Physics seem to be more realistic in 2.09 which is great. If you carry too much speed in a corner you're going out and thats how its suppose to be.

HSV sounds great now and its drives nicely around corners. Looking forward to the race.
