Put some serious miles on my B-spec driver this weekend

I purchased a new tv recently and it has P&P along with PIP. So while I was playing the 360 I had my driver driving in P&P. Had him running 9 hours on Friday, 12 straight hours on Saturday, then another 9 hours Sunday. He went from level 20 to 38. :sly:

What is P&P?
I had pip in 1986 and i ran my driver for 24 hr le sathe and 24hr nurburgring back to back. Not difficult with todays technology.

P&P is similar to PIP but it splits the TV in half and you can scale the left and right any size you want. 50/50, 40/60, 30/70...... It was just nice to be able to run the 360 and PS3 at the same time. Some tvs that have PIP dont allow HDMI and Component PIP or P&P. I prefer P&P over PIP.

Wow! How do you figure out if your TV has this?!
Excellent question because they sure as heck dont advertise this with any of the tvs that are sold. I got lucky and found it in the options menu. Its called "Twin Picture" on this TV but could be called something else on the TV you have. Once you pick "Twin Picture" then you go to PIP or P&P. Most tvs probably call it PIP or P&P.
Here is more about the P&P or PIP. http://esupport.sony.com/docs/imanual/NA/2011/EN/NX720_UC/wt_pandp_uc.html
If you hit up or down on the arrow you will be able to size each screen any size you want.
Not all tvs have this but it sure is a great feature! I ran my B spec driver for another 3 hours last night in the seasonal events while I was playing Forza 4.

My 10 year old 57" toshiba cinema series had this but they called it POP "picture out of picture" I loved it.

I have been running the heck out of my driver. I put him through a couple more endurance races this weekend including the 9 hour Tsukuba. All he has left for endurance is the 24hr Lemans and 24 hour Nurburgring. Then they will be all done. This new tv with P&P makes running my b spec driver a lot more fun. My driver is now level 39 or 40.

I finally hit level 35 in B spec mode last night. So yesterday around 1:00 pm I started my driver in the 24 hours Lemans endurance race. He should be finished within 15 minutes. Then the long journey begins to get my b spec to 40 for the final endurance race.

I still need to complete the American championship. Tried 3 different cars with no luck. So now someone is sending me the chaparral car and hopefully I can beat it with that.

The good news is that I used the Team Oreca Viper and BARELY won the American event. That was the very last event I needed to complete for the last set of races in B spec. The ONLY race I have left is the 24 hour on Nurburgring but I need my b-spec at 40 for that. Currently it is 36.

The other good news is I finally won the expert seasonal event 600pp online with my b spec racer. I used the Castrol Toyota Supra and with some trial and error with the tires I finally won!! But I had to actually control him the entire race. If I just let him drive, he would lose. So it required some serious babysitting but at least he won. I about crapped myself when the reward was 3 million!!!! :)

BTW what TV is this.
I have a Sony Bravia that has PIP but I cant seem to resize the pictures
Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX720 40" 3D LED-LCD TV 120hz 240 motionflow 3d

I was on the hunt for THE best gaming HDtv and had a therad about it here. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=237042

The mode is called "Twin Picture" or P&P (Picture AND picture). It also has the option for PIP but I dont like that mode. P&P is a LOT better. If you have a Sony Bravia you should have this option. Even the 32" Sony Bravia I tried before this 40" tv had this option. In fact the pics above are from the 32" TV I tried. But that tv was only 60hz. The 40" Sony is 240motionflow 120hz. I bought the 40" tv because it looked a LOT better with the 240motionflow and 120hz.

With that said my 1st driver seems to be maxed out at level 40. So I started a new B spec driver named Arnold and wow he sure is aggressive like Arnold. I only raced him a few times in the Seasonal event online and he ended up around level 15 extremely fast!

Its a shame they removed the expert online seasonal b-spec event.

Dang it takes forever to level up at this point. My B-spec rank is somewhere in the upper 37 ish area. I have been running the Nurburgring Seasonal race with my 2nd driver quite a bit. He is leveling up like crazy but not the B spec mode itself. Takes forever.

Your only a bit over half way on your B-spec Exp total
level 37 only took over 16M exp.
level 40 requires over 34M exp
Doing the online seasonal Does cut the time it will take in half, from doing the Ring 4 Hr races.

WOW Seriously? I need 34m??!!! Dang I had no idea it was going to take that long. But thats ok it gives my PS3 something to do while I play on the 360. :sly:
Actually lately my wife has been using the 360 a lot so my b-spec leveling is going to take much longer. :scared:

Yes, seriously. :indiff:

Given you mention the Xbox, while I'm doing some remote racing on my PS3, I've actually got a driver running on the Xbox as well, to make me some money. Both consoles, sitting next to each other, busy doing pretty much the same thing.
