Not too long after introducing the road going car, Quaife then worked on their first and only complete Race car: The R4-GT1. Like the Road car, it was powered by a 6 Liter Ford V8 and mated to Quaife's 6 speed gearbox and even had 4 Wheel Drive. The only difference, apart from the appropriate racing aerodynamics and graphics, was that it was a sequential gearbox. Run under the "Quaife Developments" Name, the car competed in three seasons in the British GT Championship with main driver Mike Quaife and a rotation of other drivers in 1998, 1999 and 2001.

This would add the Competition variant to the Quaife name as well as the world's only race car produced by a Transmission Manufacterer.

Engine: Ford Aluminum 6.0 V8
Horsepower: 600 hp
Transmission: Quaife 6-Speed Sequential
Weight: 1150Kg
Drivetrain: 4WD
