can sum1 answer this. When i originally did the licences, i sucked and only got 5 or so. If i go back and get the others now, will new cars still be unlocked, or have i missed the boat?

I'm not quite sure what you are saying 
-You can take the license test whenever you want and however many times you want, but you can only win each prize car once. The only way to win the licese prize cars is to get all gold medals for every test in that particular license.

here is the situation. I did the licences the first time round, and got silvers, bronze and only a few golds. The golds gave the gt1 toyota and a few other funky cars in the special garages. If i go back and do the golds now, will special cars still be unlocked, or do i have to redo the entire licence over again to get the cool cars?

So you are saying as you proceeded through the licenses, that unlocked cars in the Special Lot, which you could then buy?
-I have never heard of this. I am pretty sure that those special cars were always open to the public for purchasing.
-You can try this....Start up GT2 Sim disk without a memory card in. Go to the Toyota Special lot, and the GT1 Road Version '98 should be open for purchasing, but you'll only have 10,000 credits of course
-The question was confusing because there are two other GT1s in the game.
- '98 GT-One Race Car (Gran Tursimo World League random prize car)
- '99 GT-One Race Car (Super License prize car- you get this by getting all golds)

Mmmmm..sorta..I guess I myslf am muddling the gold medal = more cars situation. This is cos the first time around when sum1 else did the licences, and got 1 gold, there was no Amemiya RX7. When the game crashed and i did the licences again with 5 golds, the RX7 all of a sudden became available in the special garage. What exactly does more gold medla do in the way of more cars???

if you get all gold medals on the once license ciriculum (eg. B license) you get a prize car that gets added to your garage like winning a car after a race or something.
i went through and got all the licenses without getting 1 gold and I never noticed know change in the special car lot. It nust have been a glitch or something.

I think u are right. The first time around, the game **** up, and i had to start all over a gain. Must be a skanky version of the game i got.
