Ill start off with a "Hello" to everyone...Im new to this messageboard. Okay. Now to my question. I'm 16.5 years old. I was originally going to get an Acura RSX Type S. My mom ordered an Arctic Blue one at the local dealership...Waited for 2 months so that another dealer would trade one over to here...And they sold the damn thing before we came to pick it up!!!WTF!!! So I'm pretty mad and discouraged about the whole Acura thing. I was watching Initial D a while back and thought: "Hey, those RX-7s seem pretty kick-ass." So I've done a bit of research on RX-7s and am looking for one on ebay. I hear a lot of horror stories about the maintenance required for one of these cars. 'Make sure it doesn't over heat.' 'Note the boost pressure...Theres something wrong if it isn't 10-8-10 pattern.' Well...I think this would be a pretty cool car. But I would like to know exactly what I should check and what parts I should strengthen if I get the car. Are there any RX7 owners on the forums that can help me with this? Thanks.

You'll regret getting a twin turbocharged rear wheel drive car as your first. Especially one that's as reliable as the FD3S.:rolleyes:

I would have helped you until I saw that you wanted one since you saw it in Initial D.:irked: That's worse than the F&F fanboys wanting a Supra IMO.

All I'll say is talk to MazKid, or go ask around in the Mazda Association Zone. Also check here.

Anyhow, sorry if I seem like an ass.:nervous: Welcome to GTPlanet. Enjoy your stay.:)

Uhhh...thanks for the info...I guess...

I know the Initial D thing sounds stupid but that wasn't what made me want the RX7...I just hadn't really thought about purchasing one previously because they're so rare...But Initial D sort of sparked my interest in them again...So I started reading about rotaries and the FD3S...I think itd be tight to get a car like that for 15k...Then maybe spend like 3k to enhance the reliability(e.g.-radiator, intercooler, new catalytic converter, apex seals)
