Question about leveling up

This might be a stupid question, but...could somebody please tell me how to reach driver level A and S? I've gotten as high as B, and the in-game manual doesn't explain exactly what you need to achieve to graduate.

I use the same car every time. With this:

Win once at D -> C
Win once at C -> B
Win twice at B -> A
Win three times at A -> S

I've also noticed that you can unlock the levels even if you finish 2nd or 3rd.

Nice find. Does it require the same amount of wins to reach a next level if you finish 2nd or 3rd or is it the same as coming in 1st?

I haven't tried it on other levels yet, but if you come in 2nd twice at level D, it will unlock level C.

Dunno, that would be kinda weird. If I'm going to come in second/third/fourth (dear god no fourth, please no!!!!) I restart and make myself race again until I get it right. Kinda masochistic....

Well I've raced probably 20 times with the same car (Speed12) on the Test Course (2 laps vs. Citroen GTs) and can't seem to make it past B...

From what I had gathered in a little test, it seams like the game runs a point system behind the level up process.

Working like 8pts for first, 4 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 1 for 4th (from what it seams even last place gives points)

And it requires the same amount of points as the number of wins Famine posted, so it's like:
D > C 8pts
C > B 8pts
B > A 16pts
A > S 24pts

But I would like to test it further to see if all that is 100% accurate or not.

Also note that the number of laps don't affect the level up process.

I used the SLR and had two Ford GTs and an NSX-R LM. 1 win each from D to C to B, two wins to A and three wins to S.

TIP: If you use a slow car like a Civic Type R and set single race as same manufacturer, the races are very easy to come 1st

If you want to win easy just go with the Prius (The newer one). You won't get any competition at all and therefore no fun. But you will win.

Thats not quiet right. I just got from D to S like this:

With your calculations I did only get 2+8+8+4 = 22 Points in Rank A
