Question About playing PS

Hi everyone .

I play racing games on my PS4 but I love to play GT6 on my PS3. If I have a PS4 account ( PSN ID ) , can I log the same account onto a PS3 or will I lose any data ? Is there anything I have to do to make sure I can log onto a PS3 ? I just wanna play PS4 games and PS3 games under the same account or do I need to transfer . I don't want to transfer , I just want to be able to play the full online GT6
