Hey Shifters. I just downloaded the demo for Shift on PS3 and was moderately impressed. After a few laps I thought "gee maybe it would be worth getting this to hold me over during the arduous wait for GT5.."
Then I turned the difficulty up to medium and it seemed like all heck broke loose. The AI went into Mad Max mode and just wrecked me constantly. I couldn't even make it around Spa in the Zonda without a few serious smashes. I kept getting rear-ended even when I broke late and cut deep into corners. Routine passes down straightaways became harrowing endeavors when the MUCH slower opponents (which I would even go in the grass to keep away from) would swerve erratically as I approached, often bumping me - which seems to only ever result in a massive crash.
So my question: Is this lunatic AI/crashing behavior just a part of the demo, or can I expect this in the full game? I've lived with the quirky Gran Turismo AI forever and it can be aggressive sometimes. But from all I can tell, Shift has more aggressive AI than Twisted Metal. I can't tolerate it for a driving sim type game.
