I'm new to GT5 online racing. I've noticed that when I race online I'm always started in last place. How is this decided? Is there anyway I can get pole position, or at least be competitive in the lineup? This is gettin kinda old.

Cars are arranged by performance points (PP). The faster and more powerful the car you choose, the farther back in the grid you are started. Cut your horsepower down, change to harder tires, reduce downforce, or add weight. That should move you up in the grid.

If you end up 'creating race' you will have poll; but my understanding it is random and race rules say to have max power point for race; e.g. 700 pp race you tune for 700 pp.
