Questions about deleting decals/logos??

I was wondering when a decal is deleted from my files does that mean its also deleted from everyone that added it to their collection?
Yes it would disappear from their collection and from their livery concepts in the editor.
It will stay on the liveries which are already shared, though.

So if they have already created a livery and used a decal/logo it would still show up in there project. They just wouldn't be able to edit it. The reason why I was asking is I was going through some of the Racing Wraps that I've made & the ones that aren't very popular I've been deleting them to free up space to create new ones.

Thanks

If a car has a decal on it, that's been deleted, as soon as you get in the editor, you get a message saying, a or some decals can not be found. Only then will they disappear from the car. Stay out of the livery editor, and it's all good.

Oh only on shared ones? not the ones that are saved, but not shared.

Oops, I didn't know that! I have also been deleting decals to reduce clutter...... but it's the one with hardly any likes or re-posts so doubt anyone used them.
I got caught out with it though.... if you delete a Scapes picture from the GALLERY (over at Granturismo.com where I do all my comments, likes etc. as it's much easier than on the PS4) it remains in your LIBRARY. If you delete a Decal from the Gallery, it disappears from the library too and is not available to you....

Can someone tell me what's the normal thing to do when you are trying to clean up your decals? Is it ok to delete one's that only a few have uploaded or a decal that is uploaded every day by someone? I really don't want to piss someone off that uploaded a decal/logo from my gallery and then have them never upload any new one's in my gallery.

First, and obviously, try to delete the decals that you haven't shared. Almost half of the decals that I upload are custom shapes / masks / colour reference for the liveries I create and drivers names. They are usually useful only once, so I don't share them and I can delete them later (but I always keep the SVG file so I can re-upload it if needed).

Second, try to delete the decals with few likes and/or with specific use. Don't forget that deleting decals won't affect new people or shared liveries, only the ones that people want to modify. It is unlikely that someone who have made a 2017 Suzuka 1000km livery 6 months ago will come back to modify it, while a 2019 Super GT or IMSA car will be tweaked during the year to follow the livery updates. Also, racing series decals or manufacturers decals will be more widespread on cars, while a small unique sponsor will not be used on other liveries.

Third, as you said, if it is a common decal, the suppression won't bother people. A RebBull or Michelin decal is easy to find if someone delete the one you're currently using.

Can you tell me what the purpose of reposting a decal? I love to create these decals/logo/wraps because I'm disabled & housebound with nothing to do so this is like my job. I love it when some one hows downloaded one from my gallery leaves me a comment. Whether it good or bad, it just give me a little bit of inspiration to keep on making them. The one thing that kinda bothers me is that no one ever repost anything. Today I had 5 to 600 people download something from my gallery and out of those 600 people 11 of them reposted it. For me if you download it you must like it so why not repost it. The button right there you even have go go over it to get to the button to download it. So just hit it before you download it. Also I just found out that you can have only 1000 file total and once you hit that amount you can no longer upload anything. I wish that they would give you some kinda of notice then this happens because I had to go back and re upload them once i cleaned up my gallery.

Is there a way to increase the 1000 decal limit?

I was hoping they allowed us to use extended system storage (external hdd or larger internal) to host excess over 1000 decals.

I really hope they increase the limit by 2000 since a lot of us mod more than play.

Also how about a better way to search and sort the decals. Such a time waste to find the decals after you download them.

It would be better if at the very least the decals you just downloaded show up first a la when you upload your own decals. The latest upload shows up at the top so you don't have to search all over for the decal. Whoever implemented this system on the downloaded decals section really didn't care about the users time lol.

Searching and sorting decals? Get out of here with that common sense...why would anyone ever want to do that?

In all seriousness though, I doubt it will ever happen. The game is almost 2 years old at this point. If Polyphony was going to add it, they would have done so by now.
