I enjoy the occasional drag race in real life, but the fun part about it for me is the roar of the car and sinking into your seat and feeling the G's as the car accelerates. Since neither of those are possible in GT6, what aspects of it make it appealing to so many people?

Also, this forum seems to agree that "pros" outlaw nitrous in their Drag lobbies. What makes nitrous less desirable than other power mods?

A lot of us learn without it and we like to keep it that way. And honestly I go by my philosophy which is you need to be able to tune without it until you can tune with it.

Drag racing is not much more than a showcasing of your tuning abilities. The satisfaction of of beating someone claiming to have the 'fastest Camaro in the game' is quite satisfying.

As for Nitrous, like katie said, you have to walk before you can run. Get a room with people who are serious about making competitive races and I'd love to have some sleeper Nitrous cars, but the majority of rooms with nos allowed are just kids who take a car, upgrade it to the max, hit nos and think they are drag racing

The thing with that claim is, most of the time actually true, and if someone beats you, it's quite big news in the Gran Turismo world. I remember when I reigned a lot of GT5's drag racing before SSRX, I could legitly say I had some of the fastest cars in the entire world, and it wasn't bullcrap because you had many people to back you up, whereas when SSRX came out, who knows if someone had a faster time than you since most of them never bothered posting on the boards.

Harry hit the nail on the head as far as NOS.

NOS is more effective then any thing, it increases your hp 40-100% in the push of a button. A huge flaw in my opinion also.
I can hit the nos in my honda and go from 455 to 900hp in no time.
A 450hp shot of nos would kill any engine.
But comparing a turbo to nos is like appels and oranges. We use every part to tune.

Wheres the diagram that shows the HP increases when you use nitrous???How do you know you go from 450hp to 900hp???Sound like pure speculation to me.

Why do you have my friends name with the letters reversed lol

You figure it out based on the percentage you set NOS to.

Convert the percentage to a decimal. For example, on a Taurus SHO, you set the NOS to a 70% injection (max), convert it to a decimal, and multiply the decimal figure by your horsepower. A 450hp car with a 70% injection should yield just over a 300hp shot. Add the 2 together, bam, a 700 horsepower car.

If you want a good nitrous tune your going to have to learn how to tune for it. You can't use an "all motor" tune and slap nitrous to it if you wanna hang with the Pro Nitrous Tuners. It'll never work.

A kid who upgrades his car and slaps nitrous won't consider himself "fast" if he races a good nitrous tuner. The same logic is applied to the kid who upgrades his car without nitrous and without a good tune and runs it against a good "all motor" tuner. I really do feel like this is a childish argument.

When you agree to run a person with nitrous and lose, DON'T COMPLAIN. You chose the unfair route. we have rookie nitrous tuners and rookie all motor tuners "noobs". They troll all the time.

These two classes are completely separate. "all motor" runs "all motor" and Nitrous runs Nitrous. You can't mix them up even if they fall within the same power/category/car.

This is why you have so many "all motor" tuners mad at nitrous tuners. They KEEP running nitrous tuners. Just don't do it. Or come to an agreement on what type of race it will be. Simple. That is why it's good to carry a tune for "all motor" and Nitrous for every one of your cars if possible. Or join an all motor lobby restricting nitrous so that you don't deal with the "damn, why did you spray" situation.

You have all motor pro tuners, you have nitrous pro tuners (being faster), and then you have pro tuners for both. Choose what category you want and improve on that style. Don't let ignorance take over your opinions. Will I call a nitrous tuner a "rookie" when I'm rolling around in a Turboed car? Would the true ALL MOTOR tuner call a Turboed tuner a "rookie" as well?

If a nitrous tuner is to much for you stay away from him. If a turboed tuner is to fast for an true "all motor" tuner then just stay away from him. Sorry for the rant, I love running with and without nitrous. I think the game is fantastic and this feature adds another dimension to it. But seeing someone ALWAYS complain seems to be getting quite annoying.

^^^ why are you repeating yourself in all the paragraphs over nothing, I think nobody is paying attention to your argument.

As long as you get the point. you know whats also repeating? The crying that goes online over this. Childish and ignorant. Hence, my long post. Thank me later.
