Here's (my) record to beat:

new_record.jpg

1'25.710

Here are the rules:

- Must be in Arcade mode -> Free Run
- Track: Mid-Field Raceway
- Class A -> Skyline GT-R V-specII
- Anykind of transmission
- Racing or drift setup

Moved to Spot Races and Lap Times board, where it belongs.

And may I suggest you see the GTP Weekly Competition thread in the Official GTP Competitions board. That was about my time in an arcade Evo VII at Midfield, which is the initial challenge for registration. Give it a shot!

Well, it's a very good time, but i remember spending so much time trying to get gold on the super license at midfield so I really don't like the track in that direction anymore. It drives me crazy, i think it's becasue it's one of the easier tracks so there are very few places were you can improve you time. I remember being like 3 or 4 car lengths in front to the gold gost then i didn't hit the hair pin prefectly and just missed the gold time. It really all comes down to that last hair pin in the end.

Yes that is the key point of the track.I must have watched the analization of that time of mine like 50 times till I got how I did it and improved on my time. Anyone else wanna give it a try?:)

1'24.545

T1: 0'26.046
T2: 0'51.144

The main thing is to just keep at it. You would be amazed at how much time you can cut down if you improve on each section one at a time. Instead of going for the one killer lap, it is best to take your time and improve on your best lap times steadily.

My Sector 9 (the sector containing the dreaded hairpin turn) info:

Entrance/Top Speed: 106mph in 4th gear
Lowest Speed: 41mph in 2nd gear
Average Speed: 61mph
Sector Time: 0'05.979

soflaimports, I think you would be interested in this: Official GTP Weekly Race Series

Thought I'd give your challenge a quick try. I ran 10 laps and this is the best I got

T1: 25.427
T2: 49.599
1'22.867

completely clean, no wheels on the grass anywhere.

soflaimports, you'll find you can go quicker with ASM and TCS both off. This car is pretty easy to drive with just the hairpin likely to catch out an inexperienced driver, so there's no real need for electronic driver aids.

FuryX21, you need to find a bit more in the middle sector.

A really quick driver (which I am not) will be in the low 1'22s or even the high 1'21s.

Whoa man!

Are you sure you used the correct car (Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II, R32 version, the car in the screenshot in the first post)?? I'm not trying to knock your skill or anything, and I certainly know that I'm not the fastest racer around here, but I find it quite hard to believe that you blew me away by about 1.5 seconds and yet claim to not be a quick driver.

Bro, you are either off or just BS... There is no way you will break into the 21s with that car... And even 22s are littlebit off...

Ooops :dunce:

I dont think I'll be so fast when I use the R32, my lap was with the R34 - not the first time i've muddled them up.

Guess I'd better try again tomorrow without cheating...

All good:D

Gave in to temptation and run a few laps in the R32 before bed. Best lap 1'24.923. It's me thats got some work to do in sector 2. lol.

Gave it another try this morning now that I can keep my eyes open

1'24.259
T1: 0'26.122 (didnt quite make the apex on 1st turn)
T2: 0'50.967

I'd forgotten just what a joy the R32 is to drive, though it's frustrating through the turns if you're up against the R34! Turn-in is slow, but once see's turning the balance is sweet.

Sector 9

Entrance/Top Speed: 107mph in 4th gear
Lowest Speed: 41mph in 2nd gear
Sector Time: 0'06.037

Nice time there Wastegate!

I guess I'll attempt to improve on my time but that puts me up against a pretty darn fast time of yours. Any improvement on my part will have to depend on apexing the turns at just the right moment and not getting too excited resulting in me ruining my lap at the last hairpin entering the last tunnel.

lol, can you show somekind of proof on that? Not being untrusty but that is impossibly fast IMO. The fastest I got so far is 1'24.489 and I have ran right around 200 laps to get that time...

Sofla, my time is not impossibly fast - in the official GTP comp I'm only rated as an amateur. A 'professional' would be in the 1'23s without doubt.

Running my lap through the data logger shows the following splits and speeds at start of splits. You can compare them with yours to find out where I'm gaining the 0.2secs (quite probably there are a couple of sectors where you are a bit faster than me).

1) 4.947 195kph
2) 8.762 211 - missed apex, more time here
3) 11.558 139
4) 6.081 178
5) 6.536 188 - two wheels briefly on grass, 2nd apex
6) 11.485 120
7) 4.889 142
8) 3.360 180 - 2 wheels on kerb other 2 on grass for right hander
9) 6.037 174
10) 11.482 102
11) 9.095 151

I used a GT Force wheel and pedals and manual tranny.
