Interesting development, I remember they tried weight only in a previous attempt at Balance of Performance, but that didn't work.

The addition of power limiting does make a lot of sense. GT following real motor sports lead here I think.

The PP range in the new event is pretty dramatic with the Corvette at 550 and one of the R8s up at 583!

It will be interesting to see how this pans out or if there is still one dominant car in the event!

It also looks like they intend to implement it further in other quick match events which sounds like good news for LMP and Group C stuff.

Thoughts and opinions on this? Does it work does it matter, is it a step in the right direction?

I don't remember another developer trying to balance cars in match made races previously. Just setting PP style limits and trying to match drivers on ability.

Shame about SRF [edit]after going and playing is currently off :) [\edit] and racing softs but that's the same for everyone at the end of the day, two laps at Laguna Secs also a really really quick match! This might be down to the R8 race cars being a little wayward at times?

Hopefully the next thing the revise is the number of laps, I'm not talking endurance here just one additional lap on the longer tracks and two on the short ones...

this could be a gimps of what's to come in the FIA stuff coming out next year! they need to improve it s bit thou, maby make it accessible in an open lobby.
many games and sims inculde cars that have already been equalised, like project cars and iracing. This means there players don't need to go thou hours of regulating to get different cars to do the same lap times!

Does anybody know if the "Boost" feature (I used it alot in GT5) is also being used in GT6 Quickmatch or is this "BoP" just limited to car specific alterations?

when you click on the event, the screen that had 'Use a Courtesy Car' has a list conditions scrolling at the bottom of the screen.

The only event to currently have boost (weak) is the Historic Prototype Racecar Battle at Suzuka.
