I notice that in the settings section it gives you the choice of choosing "Open field" as far as your track opponents go. I take it that means you will be racing against random cars of all different classes on the same track?
If that's the case, it's a GREAT feature!
I had to select the open setting to get my X class Peugeot into the manufacturer race. The field didn't suddenly fill up with 107s and 308s so I imagine it only affects the player car.
This is for the career mode right? It allows you to race with a super-overpowered car, old school Gran Turismo style. Like UKMikey said, it's only an option for the player car.
