hey guys whats up? i just joined this forum when i found this site today. pretty cool stuff :)

now, this is in regards to that other "make money fast" thread.

i am also interested in knowing what the quickest way is to make money. BUT, i do not want to sell ANY cars in my garage. i would like to make money based solely on earning it. presently, i have about 64 cars in my garage. i realize i could get ridiculously rich very quickly if i sold most of my cars. so far, the only thing i have resorted to are the endurance races. more specifically, i race on the apricot hill 50 laps for 500,000. but that is not enough, if i want to ever have a Pikes Peak Escudo in my garage. my goal is to have a remaining amount of 1,000,000 credits.

that means, after spending 2 million on the Escudo, and say 1 million on one car, and 1 million on another, i would like to still have 1 million left over.

yes i know this is very big/ambitious, but PS1 is all i have. and i wont be getting a PS2 anytime soon either :grumpy: so ive got all the time in the world.

Hmm... Tricky situation. What cars do you have in your garage? I need to know that first before I give you any answers.

And welcome to GTP!

thanks!

alright let me run downstairs and quickly write down some of the important ones...

EDIT: ok first off, id like to correct my first original post. i am aiming for a remainder of 500,000 not 1 million. i forgot that usually i allow myself to spend down to about 500,000.

first the stats:

Current $ = 1, 106, 434

# of cars: 67

total value of cars owned: 9, 808, 966

ok the list: (i picked what i thought were the important/useful ones)

RX7 Infini III - 220hp, used for ALL endurance races i have raced in

- medium slicks, racing i + e, full adj. suspension

RX7 Aspec - stock

[R] Denso Supra GT'99

Skyline R34 - 585 hp, susp. etc.

MR2 GTS - 372hp, 2594lbs, susp. etc.

Viper GTS-R

RX7 Type R - 355hp (stage 1 turbo)

Impreza Type R GC8V - 348 hp, built for rally (tires, susp. etc.)

Evo 6 - 378hp, 2555lbs, built for rally like GC8V

Evo 3, 4, 5 - stock

R32 - 444hp, stage 2 turbo, susp. parts etc.

R33 - stock

[R] S2K - built S2000, 346hp, 2332lbs, EVERYTHING! (10,000rpm redline = fun)

S13, S14Q, S14K - stock

fastback 180sx RPS13 - stock

S15 Spec R - 269 hp, 2513lbs, minor mods

300zx twin turbo - stock

Supra RX '97 - 515hp, full susp. etc.

NSX Type S Zero - stock

R32 Nismo edition - stock

Integra Type R - built, 291hp, full susp. etc.

Civic Type R - built, 285hp etc. like ITR

Supra twin turbo '91 - stock

as you can see, i am really into the japanese cars :)

and i think the cars i plan to buy would be the Escudo, the Alfa Romeo 155 (one in I-A and Super License, N/A 544hp AWD), and err i guess the penzoil GT500 R34 Skyline. course theres always the GT1 S2000 and of course the Toyota GT One as well...

I would probably use the Skyline R34 with 585 hp. Now you could keep doing the Apricot Hill endurance, but that takes very long. What GT League races have you cleared?

err none? LOL!

ive spent the majority of my time just getting money, building up every car that i like. thats about it...

yea ive thought about the skyline. the only problem though is i still cant always deal with the oversteer i get with it. LOL it drifts more than my S15, which i INTENDED for drifting.

i steered away from GT races mainly cuz i was afraid none of my cars were fast enough. *shrugs*

and btw i went and got two more cars too.. LOL! after reading the prize car list.. went straight to 80's races and got myself Mugen Honda Integra Type R and the Mugen Civic Type R :)

Hey welcome and stuff. Yeah, this is the only major website I've found that still actively discusses GT2. All the other ones seem kaput.

The quickest and most famous way to earn lots of money is doing the Gran Turismo All Stars race (Special Event page 4). It is 5 laps and you get $50,000. You also get a TVR Speed 12 worth $500,000. You can win this race with your Denso Supra if you can control it.

My favorite races are the GT Regionals (the ones HACKr mentioned that are supposed to be in Japan, America and Europe). These are 3 laps each and you don't need a supercar to win them...just something within 300 to 450 hp. I used a fully-tuned Tommykaira ZZ (@280 hp) and was able to win these, and I've heard some folks claim they've won with even less power. When you win, you get a prize car worth $250,000 for each of the 6 races you complete, so within an hour you can have $1,500,000 + whatever the regular prize money is. It'll take you less time than this if you don't bother testing & setting up whatever car you race.

Also, the final 80's Cup race gives you the Silhouette Skyline for a prize. If you sell it, that's $125,000. Money is so easy to come by in GT2 it's ridiculous.

It's nice to see someone inspired by my threads...

The easiest way to get fast money for someone with no skill whatsoever would be to compete on Tahiti Road in the 1980's Sports Car cup. $125,000 for selling the prize car and $10,000 for winning the race. The prize car that you'll get would be the 1985 Nissan Skyline R30 Silhouette Formula. It's a nice car too, but oversteers alot. It does get pretty boring after a while though.

After only 15 races, you should be able to afford the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak version.

I thought you didn't wan't to sell cars... I should've asked about prize cars.:dunce:

Damn, I totally didn't understand his question! I didn't realize he didn't want to sell any cars.

Well if you're just going for cash and not selling prize cars, any of the enduros can load you up if you don't mind racing for an hour or more. I'd start with the Trial Mountain Enduro first, that's the easiest.

Yes, trial mountain is the easiest. The enduros are good because you can win a good racing car.

ive done that about a good 5 times if not more :P

LOL ive got so many denso supras not funny haha

same goes for apricot hill too.

Those are both great. The Seattle one rocks, too. I'd say my least favorite is Laguna Seca. It's so frickin' long and not all that interesting. Rome at least has that 2 hour time limit which keeps you on your toes because strategic pit timing has to be balanced with "well if I go in for tires now, I'll get passed up by the GT1. Damn my tires are going orange! What should I do? Risk losing my lap times or make a gamble I can beat the GT1 in approximately 3 laps?":scared:

max out an NSX. tyres: medium slick front, super soft rear , stabalizer 4 - 4.

go to special event, the last MR race. if you see a Ford GT at the starting grid just cancel the race and re-enter.

2 laps, price money 15,000 + Ford GT40 (250,000)

don't sell your 1st GT40. change the settings and tyre combination as above so that you don't have to avoid computer's Ford GT.

oh and btw woo server is back up :)

err quick update and question.. dont wanna make new thread for no reason :P

first off.. went and tried some of the national races. pretty ez after all! i did all the hard ones... just gotta get cars that will comply with the lower hp races.

now i read on this site that i can get the Spoon Integra Type R from the Tuned NA cup. so i went and beat all the races. first, i did one of each which got me a Spoon Civic Type R, the B spec and C spec Miata. so i went and raced any track this time, since i figured the next car would be the ITR. nope :grumpy: i go on to do another 3 races, on any track in no particular order. still no ITR! i got two more miatas, and two more civics. that brings it to four more races. whats going on? is the random prize thing just being picky and stuff? this is driving me insane. :dunce:

HYBRIDLVR
Yes, Do the Enduros over and over and sale the DUPLICATE prize cars, There worth a fortune, Good luck!

yep im just about to do that!

funny story too.. i use two memory cards for GT2 (yes i am that paranoid/fussy :P) one of them is my brother's, its a mega memory card.. where you choose different sets of 15 block memory sections and stuff. anyways i had my file on one set labelled C8. my brothers file was A4. lol he played a day ago, and when i went on i forgot to change the setting. LOL i over-writed his file and gave him all my cars. soo we agreed i'd sell all the cars and leave him all the money. yea i have a LOT of multiples of prize cars. like 5 denso supras etc. :embarrassed:

and i just went to race in the tuned NA cup again.. and i finally got the ITR! except it wasnt as good as i expected it to be :grumpy: i think its more the game... but it handles so much like a RWD car. too much really.. i drift (yes i said drift) with it more than i do with my RWD cars. ah well.. next up tuned turbo cup!
