while in the middle of a gtwc race in proffesional hall can i turn my playstation off and turn it on without lossing my progress on the racE?

unless you're between races, then you click triangle before starting the race, go to the main menu (the map), then go to Home and save

Just like any other game that requires a specific save point you just can't turn of the PS2.
