Qwikster vs. Gamefly

Alright, I know Qwikster hasn't started yet...but...It IS Netflix renting out games. Which would mean that Gamefly would be a competitor. My opinion about this is, I can see maybe within a year or two, either Netflix will drop the games or Gamefly and Qwikster will merge. Or a combination of both, where, Netflix buys out Gamefly and lets them handle the games while dropping the game rentals from the Qwikster site.

Although, by that time, we could see Qwikster DVD shipping dissolve leaving only the game rentals.

But, the question is, who do you think will win this battle, if anyone just your opinion of this new war.

I'd go with Qwikster. They need all the help they can get.

Just got an e-mail from Netflix and here is how it goes...

It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.

This means no change: one website, one account, one password…in other words, no Qwikster.

While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.

We're constantly improving our streaming selection. We've recently added hundreds of movies from Paramount, Sony, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, MGM and Miramax. Plus, in the last couple of weeks alone, we've added over 3,500 TV episodes from ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, USA, E!, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Discovery Channel, TLC, SyFy, A&E, History, and PBS.

We value you as a member, and we are committed to making Netflix the best place to get your movies & TV shows.

Respectfully,

The Netflix Team

So after reading this i'm not so sure if we will still be getting game rentals or not.I'm hoping it's still in the gameplan, because if Netflix is cheaper,i'll be dropping Gamefly faster than a hot potato.
