@Bivittavus88 sorry mate, I was told this morning that I've got to work on Saturday until 9pm GMT (6pm where I am) A pain in the arse!!

I've spent a long time creating my livery (and new decals) too! :(

Sorry again that I can't make it on Saturday, It's a really fun car to drive, hitting 2:13s in practice, I hope that's a slow time to reduce my disappointment!

Good luck to you all on Saturday! 👍

No worries, mate. We'll get you in a race at some point soon, I'm sure.

For reference, I've been hitting consistent low 2:16s.

It's my gas foot which sucks even more. If it was my left foot I could at least try braking with my right.

Yeah that does suck, that’s exactly what I was wondering. You could always do what I did in GT4, I had a MadCatz wheel that didn’t come with pedals so I used the X/Square buttons on the wheel as Gas and Brake, it was hard but it worked. Can you still drive with a DS4? I’m terrible with one now from no practice.

i've just used illustrator on your image and i think i've created it ok. I used to churn these out by the dozen on a daily basis and then after a year or so of doing none i've now lost my touch and can't remember the way i used to do it.
Have you clicked 'save as..' and then choose SVG file? This will give you a dropdown choice of the type of SVG file.. so it must be 1.1 version.

So this is how I've saved the decal and what happens when I use the decal uploader. I also attached the .svg file below. Maybe that will help?

Practice lobby opening in 50 minutes, if anyone is interested.

Can't really be bothered with dailies at the moment, and I mixed up my timings for Nations.

Is it just the vector in the svg file? If not, save the vector in its own svg file.

... or send it to me and I'll take a look at it tonight

@Bivittavus88 I'm still in. Also, sorry for lack of replies, I've been all over the place lately. Gonna see if I can get that vector done for you tonight.

Well two of us have been able to take your file and find ways to upload successfully. Now I realise you wanna sort it out so that you won't have the same problem with future decals, but in the mean time, did you want one of that *has* been able to upload, share it so that you can actually use it now?

So it's obvious to me that I'm missing a step somewhere before I save the image. After I trace the image, It has the blue cross through it. What would be the next steps before saving? I think this is where I'm screwing up. Is it necessary to expand the image into paths? And how do I select the only part I trying to save?

Fellas, use Online Image Vectorizer, it's very simple, and easy to do your decals! ;) The only bummer is you're limited to 3 an hour, unless you create an account of course!

Thanks for the link, I was aware of this site. However I'm trying learn to work in Illustrator because I would like to create decals to use on liveries. It would save so much time as compared to trying to make do with what's available in game.

The image cannot be in the svg file that you are uploading into the servers.
Copy your vector over to a new svg, or delete the image. :]

Good practice session tonight, we had the chance to try some drafting along the Kemmel straight. It feels like the slipstream will be strong enough to make passes into Les Combes but not too easily, you still have to do the hard work on the brakes. Should be a really good race.

So you're saying the traced image is still embedded in the svg. Can you please explain how to copy the vector on to a new file?

Thanks for the offer. I still have others I have to make though and the livery isn't close to being finished so it's not really necessary right now.

Okie dokie. I'm not sure about Illustrator, since I don't use it, but when I opened it up in Inkscape, your objects weren't part of a layer. What I did to get it to work was move those objects to a layer.

Learned a few things tonight.

  1. I need more sleep. I was all over the place for a best lap of 2:16.7xx.
  2. @GOTMAXPOWER is still faster than me.
  3. Slipstream is definitely going to be a factor in the race.
  4. I still can't quite figure out how to enter T11, or Stavelot.

No worries. Hope everything's alright, mate.

@Bivittavus88

I'm trying to work through a problem with my brake pedal, it's applying a little brake without my foot on it.. The software isn't recognizing my wheel to recalibrate and fix it. I should have it sorted by Sat. to race. And I still haven't figured out Illustrator yet. Nothing seems to be working today lol.

Slipstream is going to be a factor but not strong enough for an easy pass, I think how the leaders get by traffic could decide the race if it's close at the front. I can't figure out the final chicane, I had a run of laps where I was half a second slower in that one sector without making any obvious mistakes.

Does this not suggest he should be Pro and not AM? :mischievous:
But I play on a controller :gtpflag:
