Well, at least another track with limited overtaking opportunities is behind us.

I was impressed with Sato, even thought he slipped from 3rd to 5th. Honda must be happy with his performance. Alonso gave another good showing by making his way up the field, and Jenson did the same. McLaren were conspicuously anonymous again, and on the up side, at least Monty didnt moan this time 👍

I woke up on sunday and the race had just finished. Although by the looks of it, I didn't miss much.

Although I swear if any other car (barring those red ones, actually barring MS's car) got a cracked exaust they would be out of the race eventually.

Trulli actualy gave me hope there would be some competition for MS this race but i was put to rights when MS went ahed on pit stops and enevitably won by miles

Renault and BAR are really looking good this year, and given Williams and McLaren's performance that's welcome. Montoya impressed me actually, immediately checking his jack man was ok in a very friendly, human gesture, and his post race quotes reflected a more mature approach I wish he'd display more often.

I wonder how that crazy nut running up the grid whilst the cars were on the parade lap will affect the circuit re: fines etc.

before the race started, i said to me dad "watch for jarno, that renault kicks arse off the line." he said "pfft trulli, he wont do much. alonso maybe" "trust me dad, watch him".....BANG OFF TRULLI GOES...LEADING TO THE FIRST CORNER..the old man was silent for the rest of the lap

i was cheerin trulli all the way though...bout time he had some fortune go his way...when does his renault contract end? this year?

Well he could have stopped track side instead of pitting without brakes, but at least in the post race interview he wasnt all "Sato pushed me off and Michael cheats" again.

All I have to say is.... Go Renault! That was an awesome race and to see both Trulli and Alonso finish high in the order makes me very happy. Hopefully I'll move up a few spots in Fantasy F1 this week.

EDIT: I'm +7 spots into 44th... not bad after a single weekend.

I'm glad for once that BAR and Renault are finally getting a chance to shine. BAR is just incredible in their race performance now compared to last year.

Trulli's going okay this year. I also heard the Renault cheif aerodynamicist has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer.

What was that as*wipe protesting about? I couldn't tell. He had his sign the wrong way. I mean come on. If you're gonna protest about something, Do it right.

That was a kick as* start. It blew me away. There I was expecting a dual from either JPM or MS but instead it was Trulli.

Maybe JPM has seen what we say about him on GTP. That's why he didn't moan. He's trying to prove us wrong. Won't last long though.

I was expecting more of a performance from Alonso like last year. He did well though.

Reubhino did well too. He must be trying to find a new track to be competitive on as Silverstone may disappear.

Yep. If another driver got a cracked exhaust, he would have been out of the race, most probably. But since it was Schumi, it doesn't matter. He'll always finish in the top spot. No matter what.

He was protesting against capatalism.

I expected JPM to do better but it was Trulli, JPM vs MSC would have been a more interesting battle though.

Wow, what a way to spell Rubens! j/k

That Renault has amazing speed off the line, even without launch control.

They still use a form of launch control.

Erm, I think not. Considering how bad Montoya's pace was because of his brake problems - he was being held comfortably by a Sauber, on a 2 stop strategy. He would have just held Trulli up and made the gap the Ferraris even larger.

BTW, I've also seen Reubhino used before, it was in something Brazilian. Might not be the exact same spelling but definitely something phonetically identical to 'Rubino'.

The race was... ..very RED!
Trullis take off was amazing. He said, that it was almost a jump start. He drove a good race IMO.
The McLaren.. it´s just sad.. They didn´t even got points! Tenth and eleventh.
Fischichella was good too, surprised me.

In Brazilian (or Portuguese, rather), it would be "Rubinho", which would have the same intonation as being with an Ñ in Spanish: Rubiño. Either way, it's a friendlier way to say Rubens, which I believe is Rubén in Spanish.

This grammar and language class brought to you by the good bilingual people... he he he

I've heard Reubens being called Rubhino before. I don't know the proper spelling, so I just spelt it the way I thought it was.

Do you think Ferrari pulled a fast one on Sunday?

Barrichello would have come out very close if not at the same time as Schumacher would it not have been for all the pitt stop problems. The only way to make sure Barrichello did not get the position was to loose his tyres which apparently, after it happened to Eddie Irvine could never happen again. So why did it???? How could it???? they said it could never happen again. Strange how it did then.

I just think with the gaps they had it was easy for them to delay Rubens for say 20 seconds and still guarantee his second place. I'm a bit gutted really. Definately a move over tactic done a little better than Austria was.............am I way off the mark here???

Possibly not, but realistically, Rubens needed to be 10 seconds further ahead of where he was, the pitstops shenanigans cost him about 5 seconds, he was still too far back.

Personally I think Ferrari would have preferred a close finish, like Renault's. Schumacher was always going to win, Rubens just didn't have the pace in the second stint.

Why was it though that when Schuey started having problems Reubens lap times rose by 5 seconds too? There wasn't really much of a reasonable explanation from Ferrari about that.
