Participants and Pairings

GTP_TIZZLA vs GTRP_Madforce vs GTP_Racer_LP

Due to an odd number of participants, I have had to create a 3-way race. All racers where picked at random.

Race Specifics For The 3 Way Race:
  • 3 way race.
  • 1st and 2nd place of the group progress to the next round.
  • Last position in the group is eliminated.
  • 10 lap race.
  • Number of Races: 1 Race
  • If 10 laps are not possible, then the 60 second countdown will determine the end of the race.
  • If the 60 second countdown rule comes into play, the leading car at the end of the countdown will be deemed the winner.
  • All races will start from the grid slots 1, 2 & 3 on the start / finish line.
  • You will start in the positions listed on the screen. First driver listed in the thread starts 1st, 2nd - 2nd, 3rd - 3rd.
  • I have had to make the pairings for the round this way due to an odd number of racers.
  • Any interference by non participants (drivers taking part in the public race) during the race will sometimes be unavoidable and should therefore be considered as an unavoidable part of the game.

Race Specifics For The Head To Head Race:
  • Head to head online race.
  • The winner progress to the next round.
  • The loser is eliminated.
  • 10 lap race.
  • Number of Races: 1 Race

  • If the 60 second countdown rule comes into play, the leading car at the end of the countdown will be deemed the winner.
  • All races will start from the grid slots 1 and 2 on the start / finish line.
  • The racer listed on the left of the pairing sheet will start 1st.
  • Any interference by non participants (drivers taking part in the public race) during the race will sometimes be unavoidable and should therefore be considered as an unavoidable part of the game.

Pit Stop Rules:
  • Each Driver Must Drive through the Pit Lane 1 time during the race
  • The leading driver must demonstrate their intention of entering the pit lane by moving to the right side of the track after the chicane.
  • The following driver may not pit on the same lap as the leading driver
  • Pit stops are not allowed on lap #10
  • If a driver does not make a pit stop within the rules, their result will be DQ'd.
  • When exiting the pit-lane, you must not cross the white line.
  • It is expected that drivers will not strike barriers or short cut while entering and exiting the pits.
  • Cars on the race track have right-of-way over cars entering the race track from the pits. You have to take care not to interfere with other drivers on the track. Swerving in front of upcoming cars to defend your position is not allowed.

Moving off the track:
  • When the race begins, it is important that you move off the racing line in a manner that doesn't interfere with those who are competing in the public race.
  • If you are placed on the left side of the grid, you must move off the track and onto the grass. If you are placed on the right side, you must pull over to the pitwall, positioned out the way.
  • This must be done while being careful not to impeded other drivers on track. Please practice steering off the racing line, to be sure you are comfortable with it prior to your actual race.

Grid Positions For The 3-Way Race:

The race will start from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grid slots.

    1. If you agree to use public drivers slipstream / draft to benefit your lap?

Drivers Responsibilities:
  • All driver pairings are responsible for:
  • Arranging (via PM) the date & time for their head to head race.

Car Options:

  • All drivers MUST reset their car to default (found at the bottom of 'Quick Tune'), to erase all previous tunes from the car. You must then follow the guidelines above and setup the car the same. If anyone is found with different settings, they will be exposed and eliminated.

Time Frame:

  • All races must take place no later than Monday 8th June 2009 at 11:59 pm GMT. You must send a PM to me (Jack) with your race result before that date and time.
  • And all races MUST be complete before the deadline.
  • If you are unable to make contact with the driver you are paired against, PM me (Jack) with the details, at least 48 hours prior to the event deadline.
  • Failure to agree a date & time (Or make contact according to the procedure above) before the deadline will result in disqualification.

jack R3/R3 on the setup please!?!?!

Ive choosen R2 / R2 because its alot harder to drive with it on this. At this stage of the competition your meant to be the top drivers, so you dont need to easy :P

R3 / R3, the rear of the car is very planted, and lift-off oversteer is increased alot. R2 / R2 allows the rear of the car to move a little more, lift-off oversteer is reduced and overall I think its nicer to drive and more challenging.

Test it out, before posting. Youll be suprised at how much nicer R2's are. Im staying with these tyres ;)

Well, 3 way race has it's advantages ;)

This will be an awesome challenge, Great stuff Jack 👍

well ok.. i didnt test it though but i was talking because my experiences on GTLM.. and if GTLM is hard on R3 imagine GT on R2

ok.. good challenge lets do it 👍

Excellent choice on the track and great choice on the car Jack! You guys are gonna have some fun - you sure there wasn't a typo on the tires Jack? I think you meant N2's.

Really great choise, Jack 👍
The car is just awesome to drive. Just did my first race with it, best lap was 1'59.646. But I'm sure MAY or Madforce are gonne be doing 58's soon :ouch:

Edit: make that 1'59.373 in my 2nd race :). Most laps are in the 2'00's though

GTRP_RudiRaser versus GTP_PASM
Winner: GTRP_RudiRaser

Edit: added race report
After an unsuccesfull try we finally matched for the race. I was to start from pole, Rudi close in second. Rudi made a good start, but backed down for the first corner. I lead the lap and on the start of lap 2 he passed me. I passed him again in lap 3. At the end of lap 3 we were catching a Clio, so I decided to pit. But that plan backfired. I wasn't thinking clearly and I understeered into the pit wall. It took me a few seconds to get going again and Rudi had about a 10 second lead. I tried to fight back, not ready to give up yet. I was putting in great times, I think I managed 3 1'59.1xx's. By lap 10 I there were still 3 seconds between us, but Rudi cruised to a steady win. Well done mate 👍

I have to say that it's hard to go out this way, but I've been lucky enough to have come this far. We're all champions really 👍 Thanks for the great races.

GTP_TIZZLA Vs GTP_Racer_LP Vs GTRP_Madforce

After a couple of failed races we managed to get a small grid of 6 with me hosting

I opened a healthy gap on the opening half lap with madforce and Racer_LP tussling for position, Racer_LP went off at some point and left Madforce to hunt me down.

I carried too much speed on the right hander on the lead up to spoon, car stepped out and i went into the sand. Madforce passed me but Racer_LP was still a fair way behind. I pitted and came out in front of Racer_LP,Madforce pitted on lap 3 i think, and had a big moment at denger which allowed us to catch up. We were racing nose to tail but Racer_LP had still not pitted

After Racer_LP pitted it was just me and Madforce running nose to tail, But i went wide exiting Turn 1 and for the next 4 or 5 laps it was pure time trial  Madforce opened up the gap between me and him and Racer_LP Did not look like a threat

I started getting too relaxed and had a few very slow laps. Racer_LP was catching me and i knew all i had to do was keep it on the track.

Final lap, I went well wide at the hairpin, spoon AND the final chicane. Official gap at the end was 0.9XX to Racer_LP.

Happy with the result but i will need to handle the pressure better if im going to have a chance in the next round 👍

PureGT_MAY vs GTP_Chris
winner: me

1st race.... close race until 1st pit stop as usually :P .. Chris was leading and pitted 3rd lap(i think).. 4th lap i pitted and came in front of him..... ... ... then i thought.. bad strategy by me because due the situation that wasnt enough to try to brake the slipstream.. anyway.. i lost control at degner and he passed me... and he lost it on the long right afer the hairpin. i passed him and thought the race was mine but after 10 seconds pufff.. both disconected.. :ouch:

2nd race... i was planning now to make my pit on the last laps but... i got a penalty on the chicane and he went away... ouch: :ouch: 🤬 it.. i was pissed off and pulled lows 1'58 .. i got also surprised because Chris didnt pitted on the next laps (because he could have done it and in front of me.. and i still needed to pit).. so i decided to pit 1st.. i was gaining on him.. then he pitted and we were together again with him in the front anyway but closer..

lap9 i tried to reach him on the straight before 130R but he was able to put the power on the ground really earlier i think, cause i had no speed at the end of the straight... on the main straight the same.. i was :dunce: and i thought thats gonna hurt now.. i got a bit closer all the lap and was closer of him on the straight before 130R... even with that, was hard to pass him approaching the corner we were side by side with me on the interior part.. i make it through and that was it.. i won :) was pretty hard with a penalty on the bag though :guilty:

thanks for the race Chris.. good stuff 👍

Congrats to all that make through this round

bla bla bla... the real reason why i wasnt racing 100% was cause my gf had been nagging me to go shoppingso i was under alot of pressure :D hehe nah joke by side.

Race was all clean and well. Our race finished after 10 laps with just 0.235/B] seconds.

Looking forward for a next GTP EVENT challenge.
