Race restrictions

In the next Gran turismo there should be restrictions on weight and horsepower like in real racing to make the races much more competitive. Any other suggestions to this idea are encouraged.

My idea would be to have classes, similar to that in Forza. The restriction would be that you cannot race anyone from outside of your class.

LMP: LeMans Prototypes
DP: Daytona Prototypes
GT: Grand Tourers
TC: Touring Cars
S1: 575+ horsepower
S2: 550-575hp
S3: 525-550hp
S4: 500-525hp
A1: 475-500hp
A2: 450-475hp
A3: 425-450hp
A4: 400-425hp
B1: 375-400hp
B2: 350-375hp
B3: 325-350hp
B4: 300-325hp
C1: 275-300hp
C2: 250-275hp
C3: 225-250hp
C4: 200-225hp
D1: 175-200hp
D2: 150-175hp
D3: 125-150hp
D4: 100-125hp
F1: 75-100hp
F2: 50-75hp
F3: 25-50hp

Those are just ridiculous classes, and I hope I'll never see them in GT. In fact, I'm pretty confident I won't. You can't just rank cars by their HP. Two 400HP cars can lap with seconds off of each other, or a race car with 200HP less than a road car can still beat it, and so on. This isn't the way to go.

Besides, if I want to have a challenging race by taking on cars from a higher class, let me have it. I'd throw the game out of the window if it won't let me.
