Racing X2014 Juniors Online After Update

I just tried to make a practice lobby for our X2014 Junior league and couldn't work out how to get my car on track. There is a new pop-up message that reads: "The Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Junior can only take part in races where the choice of vehicles is restricted" but no matter what I change in the settings, it still appears. I've filtered by performance and manufacturer (there is no relevant option in 'catagory' or an X Junior in 'one-make'.

Am I missing something blindingly obvious here or is this league doomed before it even gets started? :/

I know I've raced it online against other cars so this seems to be something that's implemented half way in the latest update, kind of like the L1 & R1 of the previous update, they work again now so give them a month or two

Just tried it myself, I changed the car settings in 'Origins' and 'Manufacturer' to PDI and Gran Turismo but it made no difference.

Thanks for confirming. There has to be a way though right? I mean PD can't screw up That many things in one patch can they?

EDIT: it also does it with all go karts but not x2010, '11or FGT.

Out with some bugs and in with new ones. I hope this isn't exactly true. I was looking forward to a X2014 one-make after work, but now I hear about this.

Can anyone else confirm this? It's not sounding too good thus far... D:

There is the problem. Yet another reason to avoid these pointless restrictions, they add more code which leads to more bugs.

Getting this to work correctly would be a start, but ultimately there is a problem until things are like in GT5 where you can simply enter a car onto the track without hassle, as it should be.

I only hope this is a glitch and not an intended feature. In either case, it needs to be removed immediately.

Pointless restrictions? We need to be able to use more restrictions. The problem here would seem to be a missing option in the restrictions making the car unselectable.

We definitely do not need a system with no restrictions as that would ruin many other wise good races and force the host to kick a lot of people simply because they enter a car that is not in line with what is being raced in that lobby.

So bottomline, we'll have to wait at least two weeks for the next update.

No idea where you get that idea, we have no time frame on when the next update will be nor what it will contain.

It is reasonable to assume that we will get at least one large update and it should have community features in it. It is also reasonable to assume that there will be an update toward the end of the month with the red bull stuff in it. That may be the same update or it may be a different one. We may also get 1 or more small hot fix type updates before that which address issues that were created by the 1.03 update and we may not. We'll just have to wait and see.

Shardy, could you PM me details of your league? I think ours is switching to a Toyota FT-1 league to avoid postponing but I love the x2014 junior so much that I'd consider squeezing in yet another league when a fix comes along

This is a very pointless restriction. I agree that we need more. But we only need ones that are well thought out and helpful. This is not one of those because it limits what you can do with the car. Good restrictions allow you to only limit specific things when you need them to be restricted.

Setting aside one car as not useable unless you tick a whole lot of boxes is bad game design.

Yeah, this confirms PD just like to add very strange restrictions for no reason.

After the Ferrari F1 cars being restricted to only race with each other in GT5, I thought maybe it had something to do with the F1 license and being unable to run those cars amongst others and use them in GT mode.

But now that FM5 allows you to use its two F1 cars with normal race cars and other events, I'm convinced the problem is PD. They impose these random restrictions yet they (did) allow you to race the FGT and X2010/11 vs other cars. Where's the consistency, but more importantly, why restrict any of them to only race with each other?

I'm fine with people not wanting you to race these cars in certain lobbies though, so there should be some option to ban a quick list of those cars, but restricting them to only be able to race with each other is a ridiculous self imposed limit that harms the game.

Again, if you want to ban certain cars, you should be able to do so. But for it to be an IMPOSSIBILITY to race certain cars with others is a little ridiculous, especially when you look at Gran Turismo, a series that never ever has an even grid of all the same category cars and one that puts Le Mans prototypes in races with regular GT racing cars.

They're just limiting the fun gamers can have for no reason at all. How many times is PD going to make stupid mistakes like this while T10 makes all the right decisions that the gamers want. Just look at Top Gear, simple enough.

Just to add I got race redbull in single player career race. Super class Spa-Francorchamps 24-minute challenge and there where all redbull cars. I've tryed them in the le mans race but everyone bring what they want so if no one knows u can have goodd race with them at spa-francorchamps.
