"Racing's Impact on the Automotive Market"

Hello, GT Planet.

To make the introduction simple, this post is available to people who wish to discuss what motorsports can do for a company. I fear this may not be the right place to post this topic, so if indeed it is the wrong location, my apologies.

In any event, I'll begin with my ideas. I think Toyota has been successful as an auto maker by winning the IRL, (the slumping) CART, rally racing, SCORE, and nearly Le Mans. With Toyota entering the NASCAR Truck Series, it will further its success and its profile and car/truck sales.

Those are my ideas, so make your statement on what racing does for automobile companies. If you're out of ideas, here is a hint I will give you...

Think of all the car makes that run the Speed Touring Car and GT Championships in the SCCA.

dont forget formula 1, the most important racing series for world markets. f1 is the marketing platform as it is the pinnacle of motorsports and is the most popular form of car racing.

but sure racing helps to some respects. but still the first and most important thing is that the car must be GOOD. good mechanics, good dynamics, basically not a pile of turd. doesnt matter if their racing car wins every important racing series, if the car is bollocks, they wont sell.
