Rally of Sweden starts this Friday... Who will come on top, according to you guys?

According to Rally-live, the Swedes are favorites, only swedes have won the Sweden Rally... maybe because of the weather...

Hopefully, Makinen will keep his good work, scoring his 2nd win of the season, but keep an eye on Rovenpera and Grunholm...

It's gonna be a cold one!!! :cold: :snowflake

whoa, bit of brain fade here!!! It's not only swedes, but only Scandinavians, meaning Swedes and Finns...

*ahem*, Scandinavia includes Norway, as well...

Maybe Subaru's Petter Solberg will do well this time? He had the fastest times on many of the legs in Monte Carlo, and would have been a top finisher if not for a little accident that cost him about two minutes. He even set a record on one, I believe Turin.
He was a little shaky last year, but seems to have returned more mature and confident this year. He's good on snow. There's a lot of it in these parts, after all!

Actually, Norwegians and Swedes are Scandinavians, as they live on(?) the Scandic Peninsula. If you want to include Finns, the area is Fennoscandia, but I'm not sure you can say that I'm Fennoscandian. :P Don't worry, almost everybody even in Finland gets it wrong... BTW, Fiat500 (can I call you Mickey?:)), I believe the stage is "Col de Turini". Turin is something completely different (more specifically, a city).

Let's see, from 2001 backwards: Finn, Finn, Finn, Finn, Swede, Finn, Swede, Swede, Swede, Swede, Swede, Swede, Finn, Finn, Finn, Finn, Swede, Finn, Swede, Finn, Swede, Swede, Swede, Swede, Swede, Swede, and we're at 1974. Before that they're almost certainly all Swedes. I don't know why other nationalities even bother.

Mickey?! Ah, you mean as in "Topolino" maybe? Hehe, well, I only thought they called the oldest Fiats Topolinos? Mine is a '68...

Of course, Turini, Col de Turini! Turin is where they make Fiats! ;) I'm sorry, this is very very late for me!

What a long list of Scandinavians (and fennoscandians ;) ) and not one norwegian! Well, that might change soon... ;) If not, I'll settle for a fennoscandian!

the Citroen sure looks strange without the wide slicks...

Shakedown was today, Markko Martin hit the ditch and won't be able to participate, Ford had only 1 spare Focus, and Sainz took it...

Hah! Those tires sure went on a diet! ;)

Even Minardi manage to hobble together a car for each by race time, even if they do have to share in qualifying (see Monza 2001). That's gotta stink for poor Mr. Martin.

Those tiny tires bugged me out at first. These drivers are nuts...

I'm watching, I'm watching!
