As some people are wondering what happened to GM's Rally Comp, I'm here to check the interest which is still existing for this competition. Should enough people give me a yes, I'd be willing to start one. However, I do not know which kind of rules you prefer so I'd like to have a small discussion on these things right here, no poll, I prefer a discussion about it rather then making a poll.
What I had in thought was that we'd have a basic 1-week deadline, 2-week deadline is used upon request by the entrants. Rules would only be to stick to a certain type of tools, this means that Photo manipulating programs are allowed. However, if the entrants find it more fun or more interesting or this should be a way to see one's skills better, rules as in the Photomode Competition can be used.
For the Themes, I had lots of things in mind. The previous winner always gets to decide the theme for the next week. However, should this person not send me the theme within 5-days, other people will be able to PM with their theme and I'd get to pick to most interesting one. Should no one send me a PM after a whole week after the previous week is done, I'll get to choose the theme myself.
The theme provider gets to choose whatever he/she likes, this can be from the most "Natural" look to the best "Cleaned Up" or even a change of backgrounds. So you see, lots of things are possible, it's up to the winner to choose one.
A more further look to the rules would be this:
- Should basic rules be applied: Contrast & Brightness/ Levels/ Hue & Saturation/ Photo Filters/ Exposure Settings/ Gradient Map/ Sharpen and Unsharp Mask Tool/ Clone- Stamp Tool. However, reactions, ideas, tips or thought could change these rules, either more loose or more strict.
- Should Photo manipulating software be used: All tools available but you are not allowed to use other material then that what you got from your oiginal image, this means that you CANNOT change background, car, put multiple cars in Photomode or anything which makes your entry different then the picture you imported from GT4.
Off course, I would make sure the Competition would have a nice lay-out as well to make sure everyone feels it's not a floppy competition
I was interested for this competition for a very long time but my interest was lost when I heard GM's rules on tools were VERY strict.
So, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this competition, felel free to PM me as well 👍
