Another thought just popped into my head. What if there was a GT4 competition where the last weeks winner would not just pick the theme, but everything about the comp. They could choose available tools, cars, tracks, themes, deadlines, and anything else about how it was run. This way, the best photographers can all come up with whatever competion they want, without making a thread (like this one) for every idea that pops into someones head. Perhaps we could have an "idea bank" that we encourage people to pick from if they want to, so less skilled photographers get a chance to try their ideas. It would also be a way for us to try new ideas for possible future competitions.

What do you guys think? I might be able to host for a few weeks, but someone would probably have to take over. (Assuming this takes off)

I like the idea! 👍

A 'Winners Choice' comp.
This could definitely set an open park for less experienced guys.
I haven't won a comp yet, and rarely make it to the polls.
So this could give people the ideal opportunity. :)

If it does take off you can put me down as a volunteer host.

Perhaps this should be a combination of inexperienced and experienced participants.

Let's say there is a 'panel' of experienced Photomoders - e.g. Franz, Tangled Web, Beerzgood, and they can help set the tasks for each week, with the idea of developing a certain aspect of PMC/2.0ing. The guys entering will choose the theme, but the panel might advise on a technical aspect to develop that week.

e.g. Colour choice and enhancement - lighting night scenes - getting action shots - composition, etc.

Makes it not quite random - we all want to develop, but some of us need help, see. :D

Definitely open to everyone, I wasn't trying to suggest otherwise.

Your other idea, yeah I could go with that,
but it will depend on what the 'Big Guns' around here think too.

I'm cool with it, Mini.

I think it's a good idea, if held within certain parameters, because you must have some boundaries as far as limits for everything, otherwise it can get a bit out of control.

But like I said, I'm all for it.

And Venari, great compliment, putting me next to actually experienced photomoders, trying to mingle...

Well, I used to enter the Inspirational Comp, but you decided to stop it without any notification. So I worked some hours in a final photo wich is lost anywhere yet... Honestly I'm not sure about opening a new one because there already are "open" comps and very "specific" comps, and a new one needs responsability to keep it serious accourding to the time what people is spenting to participate.

As I say, I'm only confident with veteran people's ideas who have got the experiende and skills to manage something so complex like a public event, and that's applicable to all new comps started lately :)

That's my opinion.
