Random pic of Warhol's BMW M1 "art car" on GT5 Facebook

I thought that was strange as well when I saw it. The caption makes it even more seemingly foreshadowing.

But, when it all comes down to it, I don't think that's an official page. In the info of the "about" link, it still lists the stats of GT5 Prologue Spec I.

Oh if only it were true, especially being the BMW fanatic that I am. Although I must admit, it's be a bit nicer to have the new m5 and m6 coupe.

Andy Warhol was a man who really understood the facile and shallow side of human beings, their desires and malleability to a given "cause". I bet he'd "get the joke" inherent in DLC. Which sort of makes this idea of "his" M1 coming to GT5 all the more ironic... :P

I saw that pop up on my news feed earlier today, and briskly unliked the page. I came to the instant conclusion that it was a fan page I must have like two or three years ago, assuming it was legit, and never got around to un-liking. For the interested, here's the official page.

Amazing then, that what I assumed was a fan page has a million more likes then the official one

A fan page which was somehow able to offer mini games with a chrome line jaguar you could win in the EU? I think, regardless of who runs it, it's an "official" page at least.

My bad, like I said, I saw the art car and automatically assumed fan page...
This could mean a lot more then I first thought, but I'm still cautious. Why does the page I linked to have all the DLC release info, and the one with the art car only seems to have the odd off-handed comment about the game and peripherals... Hell, this has me stumped.

EDIT: Ok, I couldn't find any talk of the chromeline Jag, or the "Take it to the Track" comp on the page but I did see this...

Now's your chance to own original, imported games & stuff for a cheap measly price of $0.99 and above. Renchi now offers a clearance sale for some of their old & new stuff for a limited time only. There are even major game titles included on the list that you never thought would be sold at very low prices!

I really don't think an official page would put that up?

That wasn't this page. This one is called "Gran Turismo 5 - GT5". The official page which ran those giveaways is the other one someone linked, titled just "Gran Turismo" which ran the 'Take It To The Track' promotion.

I don't have Facebook, so I can't check it out, but the/a art car would be wonderful!

Still, my hopes remain at sea level.

But I only ever added the page i'm talking about, and specifically *for* the free car (which I "earned" and now own).

Going to dig a little deeper here.

EDIT: That's really odd, I definitely (reluctantly) only liked the one page to take part in the Take It To The Track thing, I wonder if they split off and that's why this slightly more dubious page has so many likes?

Anyway...unliked!

I think you're mistaken, to be honest. If you look on this page there is a contest to win a G27 wheel and to answer you have to like their 'sponsor page' funshare.com. An official Sony/PD contest wouldn't involve that.

That Facebook page is not associated with Sony or Polyphony Digital.
