Mansell was not as good as people remember him being, I don't think. I never bought the British Gutter Press "Mansellmania". And he only eventually won the championship in a car that was masively dominant. On his day he was untouchable, but the days were few and far between. The Dider Auriol of F1.
Who would I like to have a pint with?
Brundle, Ron Dennis, Berger, G Hill, Alesi.
I'm not sure how many F1 or GP drivers there would be on my all-field driver list.

2. Don't call us Yanks. That is a term I take a great deal of offense at. Please call us Americans. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it, but it seems that Ernest Hemingway wrote in one of his books about how Scots and Englishmen don't really like each other too much. I think that would be similar to the north vs. the south over here.

Yeah - I thought about putting Vatanen, but I don't know rallying history well enough - and the same for many other disciplines - do you Derek Bell or Jacky Ickx in (Ickx won Le Mans and the Paris-Dakar!)?
I stuck to F1 because it's what I know - I'd be interested to hear nominations on other areas of the sport.
thanks for bothering to spell my name wrong, and no offence was meant by "yanks" just a bit of harmless ribbing.....Originally posted by KevinPSX

Hudson: had you just said "show those Americans how to do it" I would've taken it as harmless ribbing. That didn't offend me in the least. What annoys me is the apparent lack of knowledge among those outside of the States about the meaning of the term "Yanks."
