Re: How do you backup in reverse in PC2?

Newbie wants to know how the best and easiest way to backup the vehicle once it has hit the wall. I know the best way is to avoid hitting the wall completely (LOL!) but several times a competitor has slammed me into a wall and I am unable to free myself. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try using reverse? ;)
I think on PC you can map a button to shift directly into reverse if you think you need it that frequently but don't have an H-shifter.

As far as I know, there is no "back up" button like some games, you have to go all the way down through the gears past neutral. Might also be necessary to restart the engine if you don't have auto-start or auto-clutch on. I'd assume you have to downshift if you are using an automatic transmission as well(which might explain why you wouldn't think of it). Or else I'm misunderstanding the question and you're actually getting stuck on something or taking too much damage to move.

I am playing PC2 on a PS4. Someone suggested that I assign a hotkey button that would reset the car.
I briefly mapped a reset car button in pCARS1 but honestly didn't think it worked very effectively. Not tried in 2.
Just start changing down as soon as possible otherwise.

With great difficulty! Using the paddles it's really a chore only way to remedy it is a H pattern gear shift. That is if your on a wheel.

edit: your on controller :ouch:

If you are going to reset you must check the track first - far too many idiots respawn on track right in front of you and ruin your race. In my league the reset button is banned unless you are on your roof or side and you have to ask marshall for permission to use it.
