Real Circuit Tours: best car

I'm trying to beat the Real Circuit Tours right now. What car have you guys used to beat this series?
It seems that whenever I select a car (i.e. Bentley Speed 8, Audi R8, Nissan R92, etc.) the competition always has the upper hand. What's the best all-arounder that'll get the job done? What about the cars you have to buy? (i.e. Nissan R390, Toyota GT-one, BMW LM, etc.)

I have a Formula car but it seems to cheap to use for this series.
