They have awesome kit, but geez those prices.
Mine is similiar to their Deluxe model, you can have a build very close to that for $700.

Looks like some promotion for Gen 5 Glocks has begun.

I look forward to shooting a Gen 5 19.

I still don't see an external safety.

Were you expecting one?

I don't know why this is such a big deal to people. There is one on the trigger and that's good enough for me. Last thing I want to do is fumble with redundant safeties in a hurry.

I believe it is an issue with the state that @Obelisk lives in and that state's hatred of freedom.

Damn it dude, I just bought the Gen 4 G19. I had no idea there was Gen 5 release pending, I don't know anything about them!

I agree, I was in the market for a Gen 4 G34/G35. Now they have Gen 5 coming...geez

I was somewhat interested in a Gen 4, but when I had seen Gen 5 was pending, that all went out the window. Not sure how serious I am in wanting a Glock though.

Bingo. I can't buy a Glock new because of that. I have to buy one that was used as a police service weapon.

Do you live in CA? It doesn't say on your profile. I also live in CA. Not a handgun guy though and I've never actually bought any guns in CA. That's a personal thing for me.

The new finish is worth it for the G5. I saw it at my gun range. I might get one if they ever run a promo. I wish they made the undercut bigger though. I still hate the trigger guard.

After three weeks of no shooting I went to the range to have some fun. And fun I had.

.22lr at 100 meters. Any group that is smaller than 3 centimeters pleases me with this tiny caliber at that long range.

Mauser 98 shot offhand very rapidly at 50 meters. Iron sights of course.

And the same rifle at 100 meters with a front rest only. Pulled the last shot high and to the right, felt it when I fired the shot.

Oh my God. And here I was, excited at Krytac releasing an airsoft Vector.
10mm, too. I've never shot a 10mm, but sounds exciting. I wouldn't want it in a polymer pistol, but it sounds good in something like this.

So I finally put 300 rounds through my FN right out of the box at the range on Saturday. The magazine springs must have just been stiff as hell straight from the factory, because spending 3 weeks with 15 rounds in them definitely made them infinitely easier to load. My CAM loader, while somewhat finicky, was able to jam all the ammo in without a problem given that the first round was correctly aligned.

The only thing I found was that I had one failure to feed. I think maybe the mags are a little goofy. The gun never locked open on the last round like it's supposed to. I'm thinking something is wrong with the magazine followers. That or the ammo is just not cycling the slide far back enough for the slide stop to catch. Or, most likely, my hand is preventing the ambi slide release from adequately catching.

Otherwise, it's a great shooting gun. The sights are very hard to pick up through my dripping-fog (I was sweating my ass off) Aegis shields, but I was getting some great, spot-on accuracy when I really concentrated. I need to work on precision and "anticipation fatigue". I found that with 15 rounds, the last five I'd start shaking up when anticipating the shot. I have a good video confirming this too.

Aegis shields
Are they the set that uses rubberband/band? If it's the one I'm thinking of, they are notorious for fogging up. According to reviews I read on amazon, these things have vents, but they don't work unless you are moving.

Went to my grandfather's farm yesterday and spent a good chunk of time shooting some pistols, rifles and shotguns. My son is 7 and is learning to shoot on the same gun my father and grandfather taught my brothers and I on.

My mother got in on the action, too.

My brother showed up after I took these pictures with a brand new Gen 5 Glock 19 and I have to say, it is pretty nice. I brought my Gen 4 35 as well as my 43, my father brought his Gen 1 17 & 19, Gen 2 22 and Gen 3 34 and 35 so we had plenty of Glocks to compare it to. I'll have to check blue label pricing on them, but if I can get one for $420-450 with night sights I think I'll pick one up.

Anything that I put on my face will fog. I make so much heat and sweat so easily that it just happens no matter what. However, these did pretty well in not fogging. They just became wet instead. So you can still actually see, but it's just wavy like water sheeting off of a windshield.

Just bought a new gun, or rather, won an auction. Nobody even looked at the gun because hardly anyone knows what they are, and the chambering is very exotic. For me though, as a reloader thats a non-issue. Don't have it right now, still needs all the paperwork, but I can't wait. Should get my hands on it in a couple of weeks. :(

But what gun is it? A Peruvian Mauser 1891 / 12 in 7.65x53 Argentine (Very similar in ballistics to the 308). Only a couple of thousands were made and that 126 years ago. Everybody knows the Mauser 98, but this one is the 91 and its one the first Mausers using a smokeless cartridge (Smokeless powder was invented just 4 years earlier), and its different in every way from the 98 action.

It's so rare I could not even find a proper pic online so a video of a slightly different model has to do, this is the Argentine version of it. The Peruvian version has different sights and a different, longer handguard.

I know, looks is only half the story but you'd be hard pressed to find a more elegant rifle. I think the 1891 is one, if not the best looking military firearm ever produced.
