Remember back to when you first bought your PS2, hooked it all up turned it on and had to set it up? More specifically setting up the time of day and time zone? I thought it would be a good idea if PD were adding the ability to have day/night races the it would coincide with your actual time set up. Say it's 3:00 pm and your racing the Sunday Cup = Nice sunny day. Say your having a late night it's 1:00 am and your racing the Grand Canyon Rally = pitch black. Just thought it might be a cool idea, what does everyone think? Discuss!

No. I work during the day. Race at night. I don't want to be always racing at night.

How about the game simply features changing weather and times of day, and different races are pre-set to what times they run, and in the GT mode the weather race to race is random. And you get to choose the start time and weather in spot races and arcade mode.

I completely agree with Daan, I rarely go on my PS2 during the daytime.

Agreed, pre-set times of day for each race, and random weather. But during a race, time should pass as fast/slow as in real life. So if I do a 24 hour race and I'd start at noon, I'd see afternoon, evening, night, dawn and morning pass by, and finish at noon again. The lack of this feature is what ruined 24-hour races for me, that and no pitsaves.

I think this as an option would be a good thing. I've become kind of nocturnal lately myself, thanks to work. :indiff:

But it's a good idea if you want a track to reflect the setting sun in your window, to pick the option Set Track to Actual Time.

Another cool thing they could do with real time that wouldn't be useful/necessary in the least bit would be having the moon change phases in sync with the game calendar on night races. Seeing it waxing/waning over and over as you go through the races would be kind of neat.
