So, this series of videos has arisen out of my good fortune at winning tickets to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed courtesy of this very forum :gtpflag:

While I don't have a lot of moving footage from the day, I do have a huuuuge number of pics of around 250-300+ cars, many of which are included in this very game. It was impossible not to notice just how many cars on show are included in Gran Turismo 6, from the obvious Vision GT Concepts, through the myriad Le Mans cars, Rally cars, road cars and even through to the Senna Lotus 97T itself...

What this series of videos will encompass is a comparison of my (mainly still) photos from the day and a virtual hillclimb on Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 circuit in Gran Turismo 6.

I hope you like the series of videos and if you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to let me know.

So, lets start with an in-game preview of the circuit itself, together with the newly added Mercedes sculpture for 2014...:

And following that are the first 2 cars to be given that real versus virtual comparison at Goodwood...

The Senna Lotus 97T

And following that we have the real and virtual models of the latest of the Vision concepts currently in-game, the VW GTI Roadster concept, with its fantastic handling model 👍

Please like, comment, or just sit back and enjoy the vids

Here I am pleased to add cars 3 and 4 to be given that real versus virtual comparison at Goodwood...

The Aston Martin DP-100 sexy beast with all that power under the hood and some fun involved trying to master the beast... (just wish the engine sounded better)

And following that we have the real and virtual models of the Nissan 2020 Concept which was released together with the Aston at the end of July. Not so much power but a much better engine sound especially the hybrid deceleration

As before, please like, comment, or just sit back and enjoy the vids

The fifth and last concept car seen at Goodwood...

Still possibly my favourite of the concepts, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT powering away with all that German grunt and no trouble in mastering this beast...

Hope you enjoy the vid

The next in my regular series of vids showcasing cars seen at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed using both real photos and virtual hillclimbs on GT6.

This time something a little different - the Mazda RX500 '70 - a rotary car which had doors that opened upwards before Lamborghini had even thought of it...

Way ahead of its time, a beauty to look at, and only one model ever made!

I'd better not scratch it driving up the hill then...!

Time for this run - a very leisurely 0m59.075

Hope you enjoy the vid!

Cool. dont know why goodwood in free run is locked, can you help??

Do you mean the single player arcade mode? If so, it isn't locked. But you won't find it in the Single Player Race Mode, you need to look for it in the Time Trials mode instead. I think it is probably the only track that you can't use in the Race Mode, although for obvious reasons as you couldn't get 2 cars down that track anyway.

Hope I've understood your question correctly and this reply helps!

Also, hope you're enjoying the videos. More to come!

[EDIT - I checked Free Run in the garage and you're correct, it is locked. I guess it's because it's not a circuit so free run wouldn't really work as effectively you'd have to be returned to the start. They could have programmed that in though, to get round it.

Maybe they figured it wasn't necessary because you can use arcade mode instead.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Here is another in my regular series of vids showcasing cars seen at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed using both real photos and virtual hillclimbs on GT6.

This time a classic racecar - the Sauber Mercedes C9 from 1989 - horrible sound on this car, and its a pity I can't change the number 63 to 61 so as to get the cars to match.

But still a very distinctive sight and was very happy to see this at Goodwood this summer.

Time for this run was 0m44.232

As always, hope you enjoy the vid!

So already we are up to the 8th in my regular series of vids showcasing cars seen at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed using both real photos and virtual hillclimbs on GT6.

This time its a staple car of Gran Turismo 6, the BMW M4 Coupe.

As you will see it was on view with its close cousins in many colours at Goodwood this summer, including Yas Marina Blue, Austin Yellow and erm dark orangey colour... :P

I opted for the Yas Marina Blue for my hillclimb in the solid but somehow unspectacular BMW.

The time for this run was 0m53.233

As always, hope you enjoy the vid!
More to come soon!

Soooo it's been a month... Must be time for another vid :D

Here we have the 9th in my regular series of vids showcasing cars seen at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed using both real photos and virtual hillclimbs on GT6.

This time its a true classic automobile - the Mercedes 300 SL Coupe '54 gullwing...

You will see it hitched a ride on the back of a classic Mercedes van that itself is apparently capable of well over 100mph when FULLY LOADED!

I opted for a cool blue colour for my hillclimb in the scrumptious 300.
Note the extra gauge on the dashboard at 1m30 ... :D

The time for this stock run was 1m05.333
Ok it won't break any records but at least you would have bags of fun driving it up the hill!

If you like the vid, please let me know. If you have a favourite GT6 car that you'd like to see, feel free to ask, you never know - I might have a photo of it from my visit.

Whatever happens, more vids to come soon! :gtpflag:

So, because everyone keeps going on and on and on and on about how good it is :mischievous:
...and on and on and on and on and on...

... let's see what the Toyota TS030 looks life in real life...

A quick lap this - 46.685 seconds will fly past your eyes in no time at all so you've got no excuse not to watch the video... :P

More Goodwood vids soon! :gtpflag:

Seems to me it must be time for another Goodwood vid...
Here we have a car not even released yet - the Honda NSX Concept...

Time for this lap - it's another relatively quick one at 50.946 seconds

More Goodwood vids soon! :gtpflag:

Did somebody say Subaru VIZIV GTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT...?

No?

Oh well, here's the lap anyway. Turn up the volume :D

Ok, I know its not real vs virtual. But its virtual vs aural heaven

Time for this lap - it's 49.000 seconds DEAD. SEXY. SOUND.

Back to real vs virtual Goodwood vids soon! :gtpflag:

Give the people what they want - real vs virtual. And this time we have a special guest and some special commentary - in the car none other than the "original Stig" ;)

More real vs virtual Goodwood vids soon! :gtpflag:

So, it's been a while.:nervous:
How've you been? :P

Here's another real life 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed showcase, and this time its the classic Jaguar XJR-9 race car, complete with its fantastic livery (with or without the sponsorship showing)

Hope you enjoy the vid - time for this one is... 0m43.021

 :gtpflag:

So, here's another in my now legendary (in my own household) real life 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed showcases, and this time its a car which turned more heads in the 90s than a supermodel  (ok maybe not more than Claudia Schiffer) the Ferrari F40 from 1992, complete with the number 7. As seen in Chris Evans Magnificent Seven collection on show at Goodwood last year...

Hope you enjoy the vid - time for this one is... ok a pretty sluggish 0m57.502

More soon...

 :gtpflag:

Something for the weekend Sir/Madam?
Ok, if you insist...
Here's another classic lined up for my 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed showcases, the Mercury Cougar XR-7 from 1967 no less.

Hope you enjoy the vid - time for this noisy run is... a muscly 0m58.806

More soon...

 :gtpflag:

Here is another in my ongoing series of videos showcasing the GT6 cars I saw at Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2014. This time its time to flex some muscle with the classic Dodge Challenger from 1970.

The time for this run was a beastly 0m58.564

With not long remaining until this year's Goodwood event, I'm building up to a final crescendo (or possibly just an anticlimax lol).

No spoilers but I've got a special driver in the last car which will be unveiled (uploaded) just in time for the event next month. Can you guess what it will be?

More GT6 cars at Goodwood to come in between!

 :gtpflag:

3 to go in my ongoing series of videos showcasing the GT6 cars I saw at Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2014. This time its time to bring us up to date with the Lexus LFA 2010.

The time for this fun drive up the hill run was a respectable 0m53.587

More GT6 cars at Goodwood to come soon!

 :gtpflag:

One more week left to go till this year's Festival of Speed and one more Goodwood video from last year still to come. But in the meantime...

'Owdy everyone
or even Audi everyone?

It's time to fire up the Quattro for another real life look at last year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Time for this run was a very vorsprung durch technik 0m48.009

Final video of GT6 cars at Goodwood to come next week in time for the 2015 event!

 :gtpflag:

And now. The end is near. And so we face. The final Goodwood curtain. :(

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - It's nearly time to start a new video series with GT6 videos we all want to see - if YOU the viewer have any suggestions for this new video series, message me here at GTPlanet or on Youtube.

And so we have the last in the long line of real vs virtual videos from the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. And its a very familiar car to GT players, driven by a very familiar driver, albeit in unfamiliar colours. Its just a pity that the Youtube livery car wasn't there last year.

So without further ado, please enjoy Jann Mardenborough's trip up the hill.
And then enjoy Jimbob Mardenborough's trip afterwards. For 0m49.360 seconds.

At this stage in the proceedings Jann had the fastest time up the hill, but he was beaten later on in the afternoon session (by Sebastian Loeb in his Pikes Peak car if I recall correctly).

And we have good news - I'll be at Goodwood Festival of Speed this Saturday, and we can all look forward to more GT6 Goodwood content in the very near future. Can't wait to see what cars are in store at this year's event!

 :gtpflag:

So, that didn't take long...
Here is comparison footage of the old version of the Mazda VGT at the 2014 Goodwood circuit, followed by footage of the new version of the Mazda VGT at the 2015 Goodwood circuit

Note, as well as replacing the statue with this year's Mazda statue, they have also replaced the big red Honda sign on the right hand side at the first right hand corner with an uncovered grandstand area.

I'll be sure to take a look in that area on Saturday and check whether the change is accurate.

As I'll be at Goodwood Festival of Speed this Saturday, we can all look forward to more GT6 Goodwood content in the very near future.

2014 Mazda VGT at 2014 Goodwood circuit (look for the red Honda sign at the first corner)

2015 Mazda VGT at 2015 Goodwood circuit
