hey guys long time GT fan and habitual gtp lurker here. I have a question. Something that's always bugged me is the driving aids in gt5. Aside from abs 1 I use none. However in real life some cars like the Mitusbishi EVO. Nissan GT-R, modern Ferraris and the like all use real electronics and gizmos to control wheelspin, diffs, and even spring rates by computer. What I do is if I am driving a car like the f40 or 91 nsx I just leave all the aids off and assume that's the "real" feel of the car, but when I drive these newer exotics I use tcs level 4 or 5 to try to simulate the real life counterparts computer controlled driving aids. Is this my best or only option? Or is these sort of things already modeled in with all driving aids turned off. Imagine I prefer "sport mode" on a Ferrari 458 instead of "race mode". I hope this question makes sense.

I believe that the real life assists are modelled in already, that's certainly the case with the Evo X. You can really feel it when it understeers & then corrects itself automatically. Not sure about all the other cars in the game though.

thanks this is exactly the sort of info I am looking for. Hopefully more will chime in. I would of love to have seen different real life tcs and driving modes that the actual cars have. I don't mind aids or no aids..i just like to keep it real.

It's actually a good question. I would have to agree with VBR that I think the driving aids you choose from the settings screen are an additional "layer" on top, to allow for an easier experience, for less experiences players. To that extent I would say using the assists turned off will get you as close to the real deal as possible. The extent to which those systems are modelled in game is something I have no knowledge of sadly.
