She has her birthday a month from now and I'm saving to buy her a gift.

Her profile:
- Does NOT like games
- Does NOT need devices/gadgets
- Likes books and fashion

I can't buy her clothes/shoes as I don't know if they will fit her. Moreover, I don't want to buy her a decorative, ring or watch. Because I want for it to have a utility.

I have narrowed down to either a perfume or a book.

What are your suggestions?

A book about Fashion maybe? Buying gifts for others is always hard IMO.

This mothers day is going to be the fifth year in a row that my dad gets my mom a power tool.
She has gotten:
An electric sander
A chop saw
A chain saw
A drill
And a sautering gun or whatever it is

Nothin says I love you mom like a chainsaw. :)

If she likes books and you can afford it you should buy her one of these

My kids bought me one for my birthday this month and I love it.

You can never go wrong with cash.

She can use it for petrol as it is getting costly, rent, things she may want like clothes, shoes or a good book.

Cash, as a present from a son to his mother? C'mon... 👎

I'd go with the mother's advice here: the kindle. 👍

1. Good grades.
2. Better manners.
3. Keep the house clean.
4. Don't talk back.
5. Do chores before she has to ask.
6. (If siblings, NO FIGHTING!)

Trust me, if she's like me, she'll want these first before any present.

Never, never, never just give your mum cash. Shows absolutely no thought.

A voucher, for a bookshop or her favourite clothing shop would work better if you really can't put some real thought into a present. As a parent any cash on hand usually ends up just getting spent on the families day to day needs so in effect you as the gift giver get the present.

If you don't have much to spend on a gift for mum then these are a winner along with a card, with some thought put into it.
You could add cooking a birthday meal for her she shouldn't have to be thinking of this on her day.

A voucher for a day spa, facial, manicure, massage would also be a good gift. Any sort of pampering.

I always told my kids it doesn't really matter what they give so long as some thought has gone into it. A hand made card is so much better than a shop bought one, well apart from the ones that Jack buys me. He likes to choose inappropriate occasion cards - like giving me a 4 year old Thomas the Tank card - makes me laugh and he actually thinks about what silly card he chooses so I now look forward to seeing what he has picked out each time.

1. Not an issue
2. Check
3. Could do
4. Check
5. Oops!
6. Check

Honestly, I'd rather by a gift than clean and do chores. :D

Armarni perfume always goes down well. I picked up some for my wife on a work trip recently and she was more than happy. It's not overly expensive either.

That. JUST THAT. Been working for years! Though at least cook dinner as well if you do know how to cook, if you don't take her out to a nice place. And at least buy her something nice, just not too overly expensive.
