I know you said you had no room for a PC. But I would build one in that budget range and hook it up to your tv. A laptop wont compare. Obviously you have a tv if your playing gt. There's gotta be somewhere close to set the case right next to the tv.

^^ Agreed

For that money, you can build a mid-high end gaming PC with small form factor. Especially with the new AMD Kaviri CPU or if it's only for assetto corsa, the intel i3 ivy bridge + AMD R9 270x/Nvidia GTX 660 combo is perfect. My pc only cost me $500 with discount (I know, I'm cheap) and it plays AC on mid high with decent FPS around 60 to 70, but I'm going to upgrade soon if I took a FPS hit when AI and multiplayer comes.

its a good idea but the laptop will be the only computer in the house,i dont want to use a pc as a console only,i know i can hook up all the peripherals of a pc but i cant do all the work in the living room plus the girlfriend wants a laptop too and will share the cost of it so please recomend laptops in the 500 to 600E range thanks

I will have a look tomorrow for you but the main problem with most low price laptops is that they have an integrated video card, I would avoid any integrated video card on a laptop if you want to game on it as the most it will do is play youtube and display your desktop.

Well, there are some low priced laptop that you can game on, but the problem with it is heat and cheap components inside. It might have a decent gpu, but the component suck. They overheat like crazy.

Dude, get a PC and a light tablet like a W8 Dell. Well, I don't know the exchange rate well but it sounds like you could build a $500 PC probably and get a Windows 8 tablet. With that you can plug in USBs and it's basically the whole W8 OS on a tablet. Now another thing I don't know is the requirements of AC.

since the laptop idea didnt go well i started searching for a new PC,do you think it will perform well with assetto corsa?

I'd personally go with a Nvidia graphics card because they are supported alot better then AMD stuff. A little more pricey but in this case you do get what you pay for. Also i'm not to familiar with AMD mobo's and processors so i can't speak about that.

Sure that will run it nicely. I'd tend to agree with Nvidia GFX though. Check out GTX760, quite similar price range I think.

+1 for nvidia cards. I originally bought a gtx760 to play AC. I could run the game at nearly max settings in 1920x1080 with similar specs as your rig, just 16gb of ram and older chipset.

I decided I wanted to do triples, and got the 780. Long story short if you are on a single screen a 760 will be great.

I don't know if there would be any big problems as such. But they seem to update their drivers quite a bit more rarely than Nvidia. Also on many titles, my general impression is that Nvidia has better performance. Could be partly linked to the driver thing also. (note: just in general, doesn't mean in every title. Some might be vice versa.)

A computer dealer here in Brasil is offering this hardware to me. He´s saying that it´s ok for assetto corsa.
I don´t understand anything to all this stuff, can somebody tell me if it´s good enough?? Thanks.

Again, depends on the price. The 650 and 4gb ram will hold you back. I can't say much about the cpu apart from hearing negative reviews about bulldozers.

Someone advised me (as i know jack **** from pc's also), to just go to a computer store pick some good parts and have "the dude" put it together for me.

For the pc master race; if you had components to choose, and your budget was (like the OP) 5- 600 bucks; what would you put together just for playing sim racers?

I don't need the best quality possible, just good enough to enjoy the experience of games like PCARS, AC or Raceroom.
