Red Bull Racing and F1 in GT5?

Since the recent indications of the inclusion of McLaren, there have been questions to whether or not we'll see any F1 cars from them such as the MP4-22.

We all know that Ferrari's F2007 is in the game, and surely it must have competiton. Perhaps McLaren's MP4-22 is in, but the whole thing reminded me of Goodwood earlier this year, when Kaz was in attendance.

As part of a documentary he was making, he interviewed Mark Weber and David Coulthard. Both drivers for Red Bull Racing up until 2008.

Without starting a huge discussion on exclusivity etc, Codemasters have the license to the 2009 season (but not 2007 and 2008), so it would make sense that if a Red Bull F1 car were to make it into GT, it would be from the seasons MW and DC drove. It would also make sense to match up any F1 cars to the same timeframe as the F2007 as well.

We know that Kaz and Loeb are close, how much of a factor would that have on Red Bull Racing being in the game? The team must be linked to the WRC team and their Young Drivers programme, surely?

Now I'm not stating I think an F1 license will be in the game, but more cars from the 2007-2008 season could be in.

I think that there could be old Formula 1 cars but there could be a DLC with a 2010 F1 car but I also doubt this as the cars are in use throughout the season. We can only hope :) because we all know that F1 is at the cutting edge of technology in motorsport and road cars.

I would really like to see some of the older F1 cars represented.

60's 70's 80's for example.

Driving an 80's turbo F1 in the wet sounds like a huge challenge and fun to me.

I have to agree. I find the older F1 cars for more interesting than the current bread. It puts me in mind of a Shell TV advert where you see Ferrari F1 cars from over the decades driving on public roads, and the different noises they make.

It's always possible that we might see some more recent F1 cars like we did in GT5P.

I'd love to have some of the older F1 cars as well, more so even than the modern F1 cars. I'd also like to see some other single seater cars - e.g. Formula Ford, Formula Renault and Formula 3.

Codemasters are currently creating an F1 game for the 2010 season, for both the 360 and PS3. So I doubt Gran Turismo can use cars from the upcoming seaon.

GP2 would also be good

Ha yh forgot about that  doubt that will be any good :( shame Codemasters got the licence I think sony didnt pay for it again because it was too expensive

I'd love to see a nice big clump of F1 cars in GT5, although I too would like to see the older models.

Say, like this...

I wouldn't doubt if we got some F1 machines from the past. I agree that GT5 won't have the license but I don't see any reason to not have at least a handfull of toys :)👍

I really hope that the Red Bull F1 is in and the rally car that Kimi will drive but old F1 cars are pretty boring, id rather have the cars after 2000 which have tons of grip.

These old F1s would be GREAT!!! I hope that is to be done. At least 1 F1 Ferrari per decade from 1960 to 2008.

Yh from 1960 to 1990 was a period when if you made a mistake in a race it would chew you up

Actually, Mark Webber has raced for Red Bull beyond 2008, and he is being retained for 2010. You also spelt his surname wrong.

I'm aware that he's still with the team, I did watch every practice, quali and race this season. The point I was making was that Kaz interviewed the drivers (as a package) from the 2008 season, and not 2009 (MW and Vettel), hinting at a possible inclusion of the 2008 RBR car. And yes, I'm aware DC is still with the team as reserve driver and tech consultant.

Funnily enough, I also bumped into Webber the day after his win at the Nurburgring... waiting for a train at a station funnily enough. You're right about the mis-spelt name though.

If any F1 cars were in GT5 i would much prefer the older historic ones. McLaren MP4-6, Ferrari 312, Williams FW-14B, Lotus JPS and so many more. Would give great value to the game.

John Player special cars are my favorite they got me into art when I was a kid. I am now an Animator so I owe it to F1.

They used to sponsor the Lotus F1 cars and Lotus are coming back this year in F1 just to let you know.

Give me the 1500+bhp qualifying 1985 Turbo F1 cars and 80s Adelaide with all the bumps....then we shall see who is the fastest :D
