Today I was doing a time trial at Sardigna Road Track in the RX-7. It was going fine until a few minutes in. The game froze, I got a blue screen for a brief moment, the screen went all red for a millisecond, and then I was back on course. I've read about the blue screen in lobbies, but not in single player and never red. This is worrisome!

This happened 3 times before I shut the game down. Anyone have an idea what happend? I mean, other than a new type of surprise from PD.

Possible you should invest in a better HDMI cable, I have a PS4 slim and I thought my HDMI cable was good enough but no, I went and got a 40 dollar cable and then things were ok...

Sounds like it could be your hdmi cable. I wouldn't waste money on an expensive cable though as it's a digital signal so it will work or it wont having fancy gold plated plugs or fancy wire inside will not make any difference.

Amazon basics cables will do just fine all you need to do is make sure it's a high speed cable.

Something like this will more than do: 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable 2Mhttps://amzn.eu/d/cvWKYN6

Thanks to you both. I replaced the cable and I've had no more problems!

Oh dear. You didn't need a 40 dollar cable. If you were seeing visual errors it's because your HDMI cable was faulty, not that it wasn't good enough.

PS4 Slim outputs maximum of 1080p @ 60Hz. Any HDMI cable has that bandwidth.

Mine is a PS4 slim too. I found an HDMI in my box of cables. Glad I almost never throw anything away!

Whatever the output of the system, the better quality cable FIXED the issue, I cannot trust low cost, inferior quality cables...
