Hi all,
As an avid fan of the series , I as many of us went for prologue to curb the hunger of gt5. As time went by the hunger was still there but due to limitations of the game became same ol same ol. Now ive been entering slightly under performing settings / cars in the S races and trying to push myself to max and found a new level of satisfaction in prologue again.
I have been racing the EVO X tuned in the 750pp races and it is so much fun .
Has anyone else tried something simliar to push yourself?

I try and use tyres specified in the manual, that's why I don't play much prologue unless the online event has tyre restrictions.
After driving the 350Z with N grade tyres today and yesterday, I've planned to give many cars a go with their recommended tyre compounds in the future, just like you're doing. It's an interesting and fun challenge. 👍

I really appreciated the physics when I started doing it and the F40 is proper handful (N3's I think),The thought of that demo and a new physics engine makes me warm inside. :mischievous:

Honestly I think that the higher performing cars like the Ferrari's should be on S1 or S2 tires. The N tires to me are like everyday tires you would find on your mom's Toyota Camry. :)

I agree ,the Ferrari's are sports cars so they in theory should have sports tires

Most Ferrari's don't pull 1.25 g in skidpad. Choosing something just by name doesn't make much sense.

Might as well contrubute to the topic, I haven't really bothered with offline, though on the few occasions when I don't feel like playing on PSN, I've tried to make the AI more competitve by lowering my PP in Arcade races.

Well, that's just the way I see things.

And you can also just raise the AI difficulty instead of lowering your PP.

In the manual it says to simulate real world grip levels (page 11,scroll down) The F40 on brand new tyres is N3 and worn tyres N2.The highest value tyre in all the list is S2.

Despite what the manual says. :) That just doesn't seem right to me.

Here's how I see it:

N Rating - UTQG of 700 to 400

S Rating - UTQG of 399 to 200

R Rating - UTQG of 199 to 0

The UTQG for those that do not know is the treadwear rating, which is a good indication of how "sticky" the tires are.

This ought to be in the Prologue Forum.

And the tire recommendations are no longer valid for cars which PD recommends S tires for, since they increased the grip of S tires in Spec III. N3s will give you the closest approximation for these cars.

I accidentally went into the pp800 Suzuka race with a pp700 Ford GT. I sure was pushing.. pushed my way to 9th / 12 ahead of an AFK, some guy going backwards and a burned out shell of a Dodge Caravan.
