i'm pretty sure theres a thread laying somewhere but i'm really hungry.
soo..

I initially bought the DF for GT3 but am thinking about using it for drifting purposes on GT4.

would the DFP be more suitable or is the DF just fine.

i'm fine with the analog but it's tempting to get on the wheel.

thanks in advance.

I use the DF wheel and it's great for drifting in GT4. Although it doesn't give the same precision and response as the DFP (you will experience more understeer with the DF), I think the force feedback and centering of the DF is a lot better.

Just one thing to remember: Do not use the "simulation" setting, as it limits the turning angle making it impossible to countersteer properly.

So yes, you'll drift perfectly fine with the DF.. but if you want the full 900 rotation and feel, get the DFP before you start learning the DF.

Well the wheel is just more challenging and brings the game that much closer to realism..if you plan on drifting in real life. It teaches you exactly when to catch the wheels and countersteer and it also teaches you throttle techniques and braking techniques. I have a DFP and it makes me feel like a pro drifter. =] but I'd say either one is good, the DFP is just the newest one and has a sequnetial shifter.

Do you recommand using the Professional or the Amature setting? I was using the Professional setting before, for racing it's fine, but I can't drift with it, it feels like the steering angle is less. Which setting would give me the most steering angle? Pro or Amature? Thanks.

Am and Pro feel about the same to me in GT4... Neither of those settings restrict your steering angle, Professional is supposedly a little tighter around the center.
