Sonona/Infineon isnt a fantasy track.

I find all their fantasy tracks great... infinitely better than COTA and Yas. I do find them a bit easy though but they are designed to be beginner tracks, you do end up being flat on many sections and they layout wouldnt be out of place on NFS or the Crew.

Turn10 has a knack for choosing some of the most worst of the F1 tracks, I have no love at all for Hockenheim and Catalyuna or even Silverstone.

Not Sonoma, Sedona. The one with half the track inside the stadium and half outside in a red monument valley style location. I'd love to see it return with better environment detail, as it was a pretty challenging track for a fantasy course.

I had about 6 million to start and since the lower tier cars are so cheap and vast I usually ended up driving one manufacturer until I leveled it up. After zi got the choice to race in any series I started saving up prize spins. I got to 20 then used em all and I got about 3.5 million and a couple expensive cars but other than that I just been cheap except for my insatiable need for GT3 cars. I'm level 167 at the moment and have 6 spins in my Q. I also attacked rivals a lot before zi started going back in to the career mode. I was struggling at "Highly Skilled" difficulty so I needed to get back in to my zone. It worked as I can now beat cars on that level by about 1000 ft.

Move on to "pro" bro! I find the "expert" setting a little easy and "unbeatable" is just that! Need to up my skill too before I can move on from pro.

I like their fictional tracks. Not on the level of Deep Forest, but good for speed (Alps), or keeping it tidy(Rio and Prague).

I must admit GT's fictional tracks are a bit more memorable. Or shall I say, more original?

Err.. why are we comparing fantasy tracks to Yas and COTA?

Sedona was a beautiful track to race on and a technical one too. I prefer the FM3 version. And I'd love to see it in all its current-gen glory. This, along with Camino and Kaido.

From the people I've spoken to, opinion on these tracks is very mixed. Originally I enjoyed Bernese Alps but it comes up almost every other race online so I quickly got bored although I don't mind it for rivals, Rio I'm still trying to get the hang of it, but Prague is one of my favourites now, I really enjoy the sweeping corners where you end up inches from the barriers and then the high speed chicanes although I can see why people wouldn't like it so much.

Does anyone know if there is a way in replays to view what lap you're currently viewing? I was looking for a specific lap (28) in a replay I saved earlier and was counting to find the correct lap which took much longer than it should have.
You are right, it really is a love hate with the fantasy tracks. I personally LOVE Rio but I also like excessive color on a track or a game in general. Rio is quickly becoming one of my top favorite fantasy tracks. Well other than Kaido. I am not a big fan of Bernese Alps but I don't dislike it.

So since hitting level 100 I've been taking note of every prize I've won from the prize spins, I reached level 200 earlier today and in them 100 levels I did not win the jackpot a single time, sure this could potentially happen as it is supposedly a random system but by level 150 I noticed something strange was going on. The description in the spin screen says that once you have pressed 'A' it will change tile six more times before stopping, in most spins this is what would happen but when the sixth tile would have been the jackpot (6 times from 150-200) there was always a 7th change of tile so that I would not win the jackpot.

This doesn't really bother me as I already receive too many credits compared to what I spend and got lucky so many times before level 100, just wondering if anyone else has this problem where they think the spins are rigged against them?

Next time this happens I will record a game clip and you should be able to tell from the audio when I press 'A' and how many changes take place, maybe also with a normal spin to compare with. Although with leveling up now taking longer this could take some time.

Wouldn't surprise me. It's the reason I'm so frugal with my 25 million... Money is surprisingly hard to get after level 50(?).

Assuming a 1/9 chance of jackpot in each spin, the odds of not getting a single jackpot in 100 spins is about .000008, or 1 in 130,000. I think it's safe to say something's wrong here.

I don't get the jackpot in the high level spins either, and I'm at level 157 now. I'm pretty sure the odds of getting the jackpot aren't 1/9th. I don't think the odds are equal for each of the tiles in general. Wouldn't surprise me if the likelihood of getting a tile decreases the higher the prize is.

That said, don't get me started on mods!

Really? I've found I end up accumulating more money than I can spend reasonably, I have ~250 cars (including many of the 1 million+ cars) with many of them upgraded but still not driven, I tend to hover between 10-20 million credits depending on how much racing I do compared to buying and tuning cars. Although I guess when you factor in that I started with 20 or 25 million I have spent a substantial amount more than I've actually earned in game, which would probably be almost equal if I take away the duplicates and other cars I've just bought because I saw a nice design.

Assuming a 1/9 chance of jackpot in each spin, the odds of not getting a single one in 100 spins is 3x10^-95. Thats 94 zeros between a decimal and a 3.

If you ran this test (100 spins) as many times as there are atoms in the universe, the odds of getting this result once is still something like 1 in a trillion, assuming a truly random spin

Unlikely is a understatement.

I think it's safe to say there's some sort of issue here.

Glad someone was here to do the maths 👍, but as @doctorrg has just said I don't think they would make it a 1/9 chance for the jackpot (although I'd still expect to hit it at least once in 100 spins), unless it changes depending on levels. I could see them making the jackpot much more likely at lower levels to try and get new players hooked and excited but once they're reaching 100+ it's safe to say they have at least enjoyed the game at some point and the prize spins won't have that much of an effect on their enjoyment of the game.

@doctorrg Have you by any chance been counting the number of times it changes tiles when you redeem a prize spin and noticed any differences when the jackpot is the penultimate tile? Or maybe I'm just weird counting the changes

No, I have not been counting the changes, but I just may now. lol

My luck (or lack of) in spins doesn't bother me all that much, my lack of luck in mod draws on the other hand...

Considering the number of complaints I think the odds must be around 1/100, if not much smaller.

I have this weird feeling they have some variable that determines the odds which decreases gradually, and which they forgot to make sure doesn't reach zero. Has anyone gotten a jackpot above level 100?

yes, am level 300something, and I still get jackpots, although the rate in the first 50 levels was much higher.

If you dont have enough money yet, you can wait on the spin thing before pressing the button and see that surrounding boxes get good values in them, like for example the 500k, 250k boxes and so on. when more of these are present and less of the 25k/stickers, its a better time to spin the wheel if you want a chance at a better prize.

It'd be nice for Rivals to download the next ghost, even if it meant a gap lap without a ghost, but what I really wish they'd add back in was having your own best ghost from the current session. That made it handy to see where you were losing time.

Other than Lime Rock E Class, I haven't really been making much use of Rivals. I'll need to do that, as I'm about to head under the 10 million credit mark.

Is there a limit on the number of cars you own like in previous games, if so what is it?

Tried that, still doesn't help. Mostly get 25K to 100K, irrespective of what's on the board. Don't get mod packs very often either.

It actually doesn't even ask you, it'll just keep continuing. I wish in that instance it downloads the next ghost, but until you back out and join back in you will just be racing on your own.

I actually like the fact you can drive without the ghost, sometimes I find it more distracting than anything, though options would be great, either no ghost, next fastest ghost, or own ghost.

I'll need to do that, as I'm about to head under the 10 million credit mark.

Even though I'm sitting on just under 40 Million now, I've been really stingy. Just can't bring myself to buy expensive cars. Maybe I've subconsciously allocated those funds for mods. lol

I was still at about 17 million from the original rewards gift of 25 million. Apparently after a day of tailgating, football and bar after a victory I went on a buying spree. About 5 million left, lots of rivals and endurance races about to happen.

I was talking to someone in game not too long ago who said their garage maxed out at 600 cars.

I get a lot of mod packs but it's always the crew and dare packs, neither of which interest me, I'm just after the boost mods for extra XP. I'd still prefer credits to mod packs as I'm mostly a multiplayer racer but the boosts come in handy when I do play offline.

High % XP boost mods are good for endurance races, apart from that, I only want the Manual transmission and Back of the Pack Dare mods, once I've gotten those I won't really care about getting mods ever again. I've really come to hate those. lol

Just bought a Mazda RX3 1973 model. So much fun to drive :). I have had a few good races in career. There was one race where I was 3 cars wide for a few corners until i beat them on a tight chicane :D. Im on highly skilled difficulty just trying to master that level then will work my way up. I can come in the top 3 I am improving.

I've seen some VIP players with a VIP badge. I'm VIP but I don't see it in my badge collection. Do I need to unlock it by doing something special within the game?

The 80s Peugeot 205 oversteers too much, even after tuning. Is that how the car's chassis behaves IRL?

Pretty much, it was known for a lot of back end slidey action. Try to keep positive throttle on at all times whilst cornering, as any total lift of the throttle will cause snappy lift off oversteer.

I'd have taken it on board without a peep if you'd have said it

if you want every Tom, Dick and Hardy playing mod though, that's your prerogative :)

Do you think we will be able to paint brakes again? I hate the fact that all upgraded brake system have red calipers.

So I erm had a silly idea................Top Gear full circuit 10 laps.............S800 Class...........s'ok for a while till the cars start crossing over each other................

Anyone else remember the Figure 8 Demo Derbys of years gone by
