The learning curve's tall though. I've never gone back to normal since FM4 - SIM just forces you to be such a clean driver and stay on your toes at all times. I imagine that's the kind of laser-focus required of pro drivers doing this for a living - @TheCrazySwede.

Sim-Steering is way more fun, in my opinion. Makes a bit difficult to counter-steer, though, especially with a controller. I'm used to feeling the car moving under me, so a lot of my focus is done with my butt. I don't have that in Forza, so it makes it a bit tricky! I'm not horrible at racing games, but ever so often, I do something in the game with such confidence and with complete trust that the car will do what I expect it to do - and then it does something else, reminding me that this is only a game, and I end up in the tire-wall. In some ways, the less you know, the better. I've just gotten so used to depending on certain senses that when being stripped away from them, my driving suffers!

I think its getting used to what you're used to. I've done F2/3/4/5 horizon etc. with sim steer so that feels normal to me.

I actaully tried to go the other way and run automatic ABS TC DSC and normal steering when I got me ass beat on the harder levels and harder cars and I was slower.

Automatic was very hard for me... I use the manual box to control corner speed and brake consistency so without that option, I'm dead slow.
 
Simulation steering in F6 in my opinion is the best I have played. Don't get me wrong I only play two games GT and FM :lol: but the excitement you get from the controller is very close to a wheel. The wheel is still the best option to go, however My satisfaction whith the controller is quenched. It amazes me how you have to still maintain chassis balance in turns, or how you can actually feel the car dancing through the controller. Again the sensation is still more natural with a wheel but the controller gets the job done. Now the downside is the learning curve with the controller on sim steering, becaus it is very challenging, but that's why I enjoy FM with a controller so much. I recommend everyone trying sim steering and sticking with it because it much more rewarding 👍.
 
Well, I went back to drive the Infinit Q50 Eau Rouge to record for my youtube channel and I think I remember why I don't drive this so often. It's not very fun to drive, it understeers way more than I expected. I mean, I was hoping that it would grip like the R35 GTR, but it just doesn't. I went back into the Audi RS2 & RS4 though and they were more enjoyable to drive.

I guees I don't push the clutch enough....it doesn't seem to make me any slower just a little annoying

I use hood view when I use my wheel

I'd be all over cockpit cam if I had the option to remove the drivers arms and the steering wheel, as in pCARS

Mostly chase cam whilst kicking back with the controller though
 
I don't know if this has been brought up before but some of the manufacturer colors look weird. Scrolling through official Subaru BRZ colors and the silver paint almost looks like polished brushed aluminum. It looks nothing like the real paint. There are more examples like this.

Yea FM still having trouble with the paint I def know what you mean though... You can try to go the paint database to get more accurate looking paint.

Thanks for posting this! That's exactly how I've felt about SIM steering all along, and in FM6 it feels really really good... like you said, you can FEEL what the suspension and chassis are doing, and once you get the hang of it, you know exactly what amount of input is needed to correct or maintain a drift.

Absolutely love it, makes the game feel like its really alive under your butt.

Similar to @RacerPaul I use different views depending on whether I use the wheel or the controller. I do tend to use cockpit in open cars where the view isn't too obstructed, but only if I use my wheel, in which case I also switch all the assists off. When I kick back with the controller I use chase far, drive full automatic, have at least ABS on and also TCS if the car needs it. I actually got to #31 (#3 in Asia Pacific) with Lauda's Ferrari on Rio National the other day while "kicking back", so when I feel a little better again I may try this with the wheel, no assists, and in cockpit view. If I remember right, I was about 6 seconds off the pace (2 seconds in Asia Pacific).
 
Well, I use cockpit view and ran out of petrol. :D

I was concentrating on trying to hit every apex to beat a rival at Abu Dhabi. Didn't think about fuel.

I believe it was about 9 laps. Austin Cooper/C462/155hp/1361lbs/Sport Tyre/adjustable trans(only 1-4 gears used).

I have HUD off but, I couldn't understand how I wasn't beating the rival('97 CTR). When I paused the game, I was 2 seconds quicker and my lap was dirty. Apparently, when I switched the HUD on and did laps, my RHR tyre was clipping the outside curb out of Turn 1. I left the HUD on for the next rival and saw I was at 7laps. At the start of the first long straight, I looked at the Mini's fuel gauge in the dash, I was just right of the last fuel mark.
 
I just realized something, the Aston V12 Vantage Zagato in Forza 6 isn't the same one as in Forza 5. The Forza 6 model is a road car while the Forza 5 model is a track car.

:lol: I'm such a fool, it took me nearly 3 months to realize that the Forza 6 model was different. I mean, I had a feeling that there was something new about the Zagato, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.
 
Slightly off-topic but still cars so hopefully you'll indulge me...

My good lady and I went to Clarkson, Hammond and May at the O2 today :D Amongst all the malarkey that I'm sure you can imagine, the was the 'Automotive Pornography' section when they wheeled out at my rough estimation, about 4 million quids worth of supercars :cool:

So shiny and shapely they were, all in a lovely formation. I'll post a pic tomorrow in here, if I haven't been told off about this post by then :lol:
 
There's an entire section of GTP for real world automobile stuff, so why would you put it in the wrong section intentionally?

Like the Zagato in the past games, where you can remove the race bit's and make it look like a road going vehicle, you can do a similar, but opposite course and add the race bits back on in FM6.

EDIT: looking at the interior though, it looks like they went full on road car, actually. I wonder if performance is the same.

I agree, it definitely got the feels. But, for having fun and playing for long periods I had to use it on "normal". Countersteering using the simulation steering on the controller it's near impossible. :(

Anyway, I'm enjoying FM6 so much. Even on the normal steering setting. :) FM6 physics are really detailed, loving it.

That's what I feel. For whatever slight nuance it [sim steering] might be, normal feels so consistent that I can't be bothered sawing at the stick anymore. They're so vague on the One controller that it's robbing you of finer control.
