Remote Races...not very useful

So I was kind of excited that remote races was available. But it's not what I expected. I was thinking I'd be able to do b-spec like I do at home, except without watching the race. Maybe a live stat. But it turns out you have to race your bobs against other users bob.

I'm using 4 bobs and the widget. I have my ps3 on for about 24 hours hosting races and maybe other people picking my bobs to race. All that did not equal to a payout of winning the dream car challenge. So I may have to change my strategy. I don't think I want to leave my ps3 on all the time and barely get any results. I will probably only do about 2 days of hosting per week 9-5 central time and see how that goes. Sorry if you add me to do races, i'm afraid I'll have to drastically reduce hosting races.

I'll probably try to do endurance races to get money and xp instead.

in just 12 hours i made over 1.5 million credits and leveled up from the beginning of 37 to the middle of 38....

and that was just from other people racing my bobs, i did NOTHING. i'd say it's a good feature.

People can race your bobs while you're playing Bspec, there's simply no reason not to use Remote Races. It's certainly died down a bit since the beginning of the implementation, but any profit from remote races is great for effort/earnings efficiency.

OK. I assumed that exiting the Remote Server page would cancel the Remote Server, so have been staying on that page! Doh.
Thanks

It does, he means other people can race your bobs that you leave Online. If you are hosting races, you can't do anything else within the game.

Your B-Spec drivers can be raced at any time they are shared. Its kind of nice to have PSN friends who will run races while you run A-Spec on your game.

Ah, ok, gotya! Thanks :)

Yep, and you know how many I run ! :D

Go stalk my friends Sonia, I'm sure they'll add you if you don't creep them out ::P:

I have at least 4 or 5 friends hosting at any given time (not including you). Almost 66% of my PSN friend list has shared drivers and I'm going to convince them to host.

Remote Races...not very useful

For the record, I disagree with the OP's original statement, but would say this; the Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a complete waste of time in remote races, but then I guess someone has to lose!

The amount of XP earned is around the same amount as credits earned. For example, each of my four drivers had over 1 million credits earned. So, when I went to receive two of my drivers prizes, I went from level 30 to 32.

Remote Racing, very much useful.

Actually now you get a lot more XP than credits. For 100,000 credits you get about 180,000 XP, if I remember right. So a lot more, than for example from the Dream Car championship, where you get about 85,000 credits / 35,000 XP per race (don't remember the exact numbers).

Some of my bobs have jumped from level 37 to 39 thanks to remote racing, and are just a few races away from 40. They would've needed at least 3 runs of the 24h Nurburgring race for that in regular b-spec, for lot less credits.

No it's good!

I get free money and XP for just putting my Bobs online! This is great!

^ This. You dont even have to have your PS3 on and if you've got a lot of people in your list, you'll be earning credits and XP 24/7.

Of course it's common courtesy to return the favor, so I get some good RR's in everyday, to send some love to the ones that are doing it for me.

The money isnt all that amazing, but the XP is pretty decent.

I had a very stable run of automated remote racing the past 20 hours or so: 2.1 million CR + 3.5 million XP earned, so it's definitely worthwhile as long as you don't mind leaving your PS3 on all day, which, if you're running endurance races, you'll have to do anyway.

Personally, I've made 1.4million credits in 48 hours and xp-level-upped on 4 accounts, how are they not ueseful?! :)

Not to forget, you can actually keep collecting money online without affecting your $20 Million "offline" cap, which allows you to buy $20 Million cars without going broke in the process! Just transfer some online money over after purchase. I can't actually believe I've waited as long as I did to get into remote racing.

You don't remote race for yourself. You do it and in return other people do it for you. I make 500k a day and I only run a couple races daily as I just have a large group of people who will do the same. With others remote racing can be very profitable, both for xp and credits.

I set my b-spec drivers all to online and host remote races from an alt account to use all my drivers at once. Easy money and exp. everyday.
