Pitting Drivers Against Your Friends' Drivers to Gain Experience

Making Your Driver Public
Set your "My Driver" to "Share with Friends" to enable that driver to compete with the "My Driver" of your friends on PlayStation®Network (PSN) in a Remote Race.

Hosting Remote Races

Select the "My Drivers" of you and your friends that are set public, along with some cars. Once a race set is created the race will begin automatically. This is called "Remote Racing."

After the race is over, all "My Drivers" that participated in the remote race will gain experience. Use remote races to gain experience for the drivers on your team.

*The service for remote race is planned to made available January 2011.
* To host a remote race, you must be signed in to the PlayStation®Network.

I'm still waiting for that....hopefully that won't disappoint.

I would love if they included save states during endurance races, too...that and remote racing would make what I have left to race in GT5 100% more playable.

Sounds interesting, so basically this allows you to pit your B-Spec driver against someone elses for XP. Have I understood that right? Might give me the impetus to actually build up my B-Spec driver a bit.

I'm with you on the saves for endurance races for sure. I know some are saying its not endurance if you can save but really its not practical for most the way it is currently. It's not as if I can even do them with a group of friends who have the game as you can only be signed in to 1 account so only 1 person would get the credits, XP and gold for it. Even if there was a way to do them online in teams of 3 or 4 that would be better than the way it is now although I could see that idea being plagued by connection problems.

Save states would be ideal for Endurance and the lack of the feature is currently preventing me from advancing on A-spec and B-spec. I'm already level 28 and there's nothing left for me to do (apart from the tediousness of getting all gold in the very few Special Events and Licenses I haven't), so if I want some serious XP I would need to start grinding A-spec/B-spec races I've done already, and I'm not boring the hell out of me just for that. I also want to be able to race the whole game I bought and love. I haven't been able to unlock the X-1 challenge because of this, and I would pretty much love to reach level 40 some day, but that would require grinding endurance races for some serious XP and there's no way I'm doing that without saving inside the race.


I also wonder if remote races will let you earn trophies for the race your B-spec drivers compete in. For example, if my racer wins 3rd, 2nd or 1st place in any "online" race they race, when I log in GT mode will the server update my status on those races and show I finished the race on any given place? That could also work for endurance races. Let the B-spec drivers run automatically online and if they pass the race, I get the XP, money, gift car but also the trophy for finishing the race.
