Most of you guys probably have driven the Megane and found out that the gear ratio is really short and the top speed is around 230kph, I thought PD might messed up the gear ratio, so I looked up renault website and found the specification for the transmission, however the ratio is in (speeds at 1000rpm in 1st gear and so on)

Does anybody here know how to translate that?
Cheers

The speeds are in km/h. To find out if the ratios are correct, simply go on track and watch the speeds at 1000rpm in each gear.

Yes the ratios are too short. This is the speed the car should do in each gear at 6500 RPM (km/h / mph) according to the pdf above:

1. 60 / 37
2. 94 / 58
3. 132 / 82
4. 179 / 111
5. 225 / 140
6. 272 / 169

Another car which has stupidly LONG ratios is the F40. I fixed the ratios to what they should be back in GT5, but not yet in GT6.

With the spec provided above I tried to set the gear ratio but I don't know how to work it, with fully customisable transmission I can set the gear ratio manually but when I get to 4th, 5th, and 6th it wouldn't work. It wouldnt go any lower.

Okay, I did some experimenting. Was able to dial the exact numbers save for one gear when setting the transmission to 250 km/h. After dialling in set it back to to 260 km/h and that's pretty close though still not exact.

260 km/h

1: 2.559
2: 1.777
3: 1.321
4: 1.028
5: 0,837
6: 0,714
F: 4.187

Also noticed that the car won't go above ~0.9G with Comfort Softs. IRL (I owned one with a G-Force meter installed) it can easily peak at above 1.1G, but in game you need to change to Sports Hards to make it do that. Still need to check on diff settings, but so far I'm happy. 👍

so the '13 Focus ST has broken ratios for 5th and 6th gears too. I wonder how and why nobody tests these cars before game release. Kaz is too focused on all the w*nky stuff in the game instead (150 Nissan skylines, Mitsubishi GT's, Mazda Miata's), and crap like photomode.

The focus is way out in 5th, installing full gearbox fixes it but then you have a bit of gearbox whine.

It's not just individual cars either, FWD physics/weight transfer as a whole are broken. Can't even make them lose rears before fronts, which should be really easy, given the nature of the cars (lots of weight in front), even with a wildly unbalanced setup. It always lights up the fronts first.
