Renault Megane?

I took photos at last weekends 'Goodwood Festival of Speed', but they got 'eaten' by my digital camera :(, along with most of the good car shots:(.
It looks really odd sort of like a cross between that Avantime thing (the back end) and the Velsatis (front). It does not look good, or normal. There also doesn't seam to be a regular 'car' version, even the coupe looks like a mini MPV (can't see there being a cabro version of this shape). and to think that the Megane is one of Renaults best selling cars

Here it is, pretty nice looking really! Renault are certainly bringing out better and better car designs!

 That new :renault: megane's got one Big butt ain't it?

Anyone think the rear looks like it's just been stuck on?

Abit Impractical too, Imagine reverse parking in that thing (saying that there's probably technology to assist, a beeper or Camera :bigeye: )

Sorry, but I think Renault sucks.

I used to think that, but some of their new cars are pretty good. The new Laguna is very nice, and the old one not bad. The Clio V6 is a great fun, and the new Megane that I posted the picture of above looks pretty funky, though thats the only pic I've seen so I'm going to reserve judgement on it until I see it properly.

The old Renaults such as the 5 and the 19 were horrible things to drive though! :yuck:

Must admit I'm a bit of a fan of the Laguna - both the old and the new. We were considering the Laguna when we bought the super Sube, but they launched them late and fully loaded in Australia - so they were out about four months too late, and a bit dear. We went over one in some detail at the Sydney Motor Show and they were pretty nice - even looked reasonably built.

I remember Renault in the US from the "Le Car" a friend had when I was a younger. Even back then I thought, "What a remarkably unmemorable car. I'll never forget it."

The designers at Renault are smoking some very good weed these days. Some designs (like the new Clio) are great. Others, like this one and the Avantime, aren't even to be considered abstract art. I really don't like them. But they get an A for effort.

Yeah - Avantime isn't as bad as Vel Satis. At least the Avantime is PRACTICAL.

And by the way, the Megane pictured above is without question the ugliest car I've seen in many, many years.

But :renault: Vel Satis isn't meant to be a majorly practical car M5 Power

Vel Satis more a Exec Car aimed at people driving to work, The Avantime is a Family car :car: See what I'm getting at, the Vel Satis isn't meant to be practical?

My point exaclty. At least the Avantime has got ONE feature to make it stand out (the practicality).

The Vel Satis has got nothing - in fact, it's an extremely poor preformer in the high-end luxury segment.

He, he - any driver who wants to 'stand out' in the exec market by purchasing that will soon not be an exec. :D
