repeating pm's

I keep getting pm's but when i look there are no new ones there or they are the same message over and over again. I asked the user who sent the original and he said he only sent it once so im guessing something is broken somewhere.

yeah thats what i mean, the notification pops up but there is no new message just the initial one

OK, how often does this happen? Randomly, specific pages and threads, or every page?

i,ve only recieved 2 pm's and it's happened with both of them so far

I'm sorry, let me clarify... how often do you receive the pop-up notification?

every 5 minutes or so until i log out. when i logback in again they stop

Hmmm...OK. Have you tried clearing your temporary internet files (Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files...)?
