I'm sure someone could make a relatively solid argument as to the truth of this statement, but it ain't me.

Like, what is "money?" Are we referring to the bills and coins themselves? Or to the tricky concept of money and all that it enables its possessor to do?

"Money" is an inanimate object and is incapable of ruining people any more than a rock or stick could ruin someone.

Well what happens when people get a nice amount of money(i.e lottery) is that they want more and more and will do anything to get it. So, yes it does ruin people.
